Rob and I take to the skies to practice some landings in Winter Haven (KGIF). This is the first time we have focussed mainly on landings. Enjoy the flight!

Good on Rob. He seems to be a quick learner. Either that, or you must be an ace instructor!!

Love the student instructor dynamic. Very good work on your landing. They are harder than they look, plus from here it look like you had some winds there. GREAT WORK.

Student pilot is doing really good. Touch and go's are hard work ! Looked like you two really had fun. !!

This is how I feel exactly right now in my flight training. Last Saturday, did touch and go practice with a slight crosswind. I was nervous and my landings were not as good as his.

That one landing your student did .. I would have been totally frightened .. why I don't think I should ever try flying I'd say give him a hug but then! His landing! Gorgeous! Maybe I should try those flying lessons after all. No?

If you haven’t yet… you should. These planes are meant to fly, and to land! My first touch and goes we’re a little rough but still safe.

Should the checklist be used while staying in the pattern?

Why is he not wearing his seat belt?
@LewDixAviation6 жыл бұрын
Sausage Roll it’s his shoulder harness, not seat belt. And I seem to remember it got unhooked while he was trimming. As the video said, it get corrected later on

Dude. Flaring saves the landing gear. That yoke should be all the way back when the wheels touch the ground. Part of that is the instructor. Teaching to drive the airplane instead of flying it.

Rob was learning to land at this point so the first thing in my mind is to get him nailing his airspeeds. The flare will come in time. Im not sure if you have gone through your training but landing the plane is pretty difficult to learn at first. Give the guy a break.

People saying there is one landing gear strut still crying mil-5606 red tears after those landings... C’mon man, that is the whole purpose of flight training to learn how to do things right. The airspeed is the king, when that will drop to much there is not much to flare about it anymore. Every good landing starting from the stabilized approach.

@@LewDixAviation Watching this again, I apologize. I had worse landings than those during my training 20 years ago. I forget sometimes what it's like to be a student. Sorry for being a judgmental prick and thanks for calling me out on it.
