Very interesting, doc!! Reminds me a bit of the bracketing approach for throwers in the sense that you focus on each end of the spectrum and then the middle is improved. Great to see the principle applied to flexibility too. It's even a bit like teasing apart different factors with statistics to analyze any interaction...though that's a bit of a stretch. Tip: for each exercices =>do it 2 times =>Set a timer for 2 minutes : stay at the bottom for 5 sec, get up and go down again for 5 sec Do this during the 2 minutes You will notice that your hand will touch the ground the more you do it Thank doc, you are the best 🔥🔥🔥🔥

You said for 20 seconds. In dance class we learned it takes a specific amount of seconds for the muscle to open- I couldn’t remember the amount. So thank you for this. And I was starting to wonder about straight knee- an interesting concept i learned in dance stretch is if can move your knee cap with your hand while leg is straight, then the knee is not locked. And, you might be interested, a ballerina taught me that flexibility is gained by using the muscles to get the position, instead of forcing at the joints and ligaments. This way you get strength and flexibility together. Thank you for showing us your magical body moves. ♥️🌈⭐️🍀

I haven't tried that technique but was always able touch my toes until the last few years. I was taught to slowly stretch up as if you're reaching for the sky. Keep your arms above the head while you bend forward with your back straight and stretch your arms out horizontal as if you're reaching for something in front of you, then slowly bend down and try to touch your toes. Return slowly to a standing position and repeat the whole process, you will get closer every time.

This may be long shot but we're desperate... Teenage daughter was passenger in bad accident. She has several burst fractures and now 2 rods, 16 screws, fusion, laminectomy... has stenosis L3, L4. She started to have pain sitting-tailbone, moved to perineum, vulva, now both legs, mostly the back and she doesn't ever feel the need to urinate. She has tingling and shooting pain. We have been to every specialist and no one knows how to help. Mri showed no cauda equina though she has all symptoms. What else could this be?

I have gone through Total Spinal Reconstructive Surgeries [ plate , 5 screws in cervical spine ; rod , another 25+ screws from thoracic ,lumbar and sacraliliac ] after being told I would have to be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life ! I replied: ,"I answer to a Higher Authority ,,( GOD ) and He needs me to walk again " I began physical therapy and could not motivate myself to do all the exercises they wanted me to do at home (to be honest, I was in so much pain and their exercises were so boring ! ) I had always loved swimming and I remember seeing senior citizens at the YMCA , doing aerobic exercise in the very warm smaller pool ) so I joined the Y and began going when it was Adult Swim (when there wasn't any classes ). I literally began by floating (using pool noodles ) I eventually got strong & flexible enough to start walking with a walker , then a cane,etc. I can now walk , unassisted, and I swim as often as weather permitting. I go to the Hot Tub at my apartment complex daily to relax and loosen up my muscles . It won't happen overnight , remember it's Baby Steps .. "By the INCH it's a CINCH .. ". Water is extremely healing !! God Bless you and your daughter . ( the following quotes from the Bible really helped me ) : " Physician, Heal Thyself ! " and " Pick Up Your SickBed and WALK ! " Best of Luck to your daughter , ( I have a daughter, as well )

I had back pain in January and was fine now. I did this exercise and I did increase the amount I could bend and close the gap in touching my toes. However, after doing this exercise, I am now experiencing lower back pain and now I regret doing this exercise. Chiropractor is so booked that I got an appointment for 2 weeks from today. I don't know what to do. Mid and lower back is painful.
