Definitely going to put a trackball mouse on my radar now Thankyou I just need to find one with side buttons as well.

Ah, do you mean like the Razer gaming mouse buttons?

@@TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ so before watching this I discovered the new steel series Aerox 9 that features 12 buttons. And after further thinking each mouse is useful and I should consider getting both the steel series and one with a trackball and use them interchangeable depending on the task. Correction. 18 buttons

@@EmptyDreamTV To be honest, that's probably the best thing you could do for your health. Even if you switch to a track ball mouse, doing the same repetitive actions with your thumb instead of your wrist can cause injuries over long term, so actually have two mice that you can switch between will likely be the best for your health on top of giving you flexibility with the tools.

Astro pad is a good solution thank you! Only thing I thought of that may help is a capture card?

Great suggestion. I know lots of folks who travel with something like a Magewell USB capture card and it ends up being a really handy thing to have in the bag.

Haha it's so true Martin, it's such a fun and big part of music industry, I was also curious why people didn't get into it in our interactive and immersive media side of things. Always fun to see what kit people are using :) I remember those old Amoeba Records what's in your bag videos from way back when!!

Cool list, I've found masking tape and marker perns to be extremely useful, labeling cables, laptop, equipment in general! Also double-sided tape.

something I always like to bring with me is a portable zoom recorder, the one I have can be used as a mic/audio interface as well, depending on how much you work with audio. Im curious as to what you use the remarkable tablet for, as opposed to just using the ipad. is it more for the experience?
@TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ2 жыл бұрын
Which Zoom are you using? I'd love to know how you find the newer models, it seems like they've kept making great units from when I had an H2 about 10 years ago!!

Ah portable zoom recorder is great! I do use my iPad for taking notes on Evernote but I don’t think the the pen gives me the paper feeling that I’m use to to with paper note taking, even though I have one of those paper like protective film on the screen. Especially when I want to sketch out ideas I prefer the E Ink and texture of the Remarkable. Is it worth getting a Remarkable though? Really depends on the person! 😂

I have the zoom h6, its a bit bigger but i use it for a lot outside of this, such as recording instruments, field recordings, camera audio, lil interviews etc. Sound quality is great, plus i love the sturdiness of it, i can throw it in my pack with no case and it's held up well.

All very nice and cute but can we get hot opengl stuff like in video games, water like in unreal, cloth and rope dangling, ways to animate 3d characters, breaking stuff with physics, proper fast shadows, I see loads of exicting effects in nowadays video games and no acces to unless c++ I suppose, nvidia flow was extremly cool, we need more of these.
@TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ2 жыл бұрын
A lot of those things aren't immediately accessible in TouchDesigner, making them quite heavy lifts for most folks. Although we have a few on the list, so they'll come out eventually. In the mean time, if you'd like more advanced content, I'd suggest checking out The HQ PRO, you can take the 7-day free trial for a spin and see if it has more of the materials you're looking for.

@@TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ thx for answer, I'm pulling your leg a little here, I use TD for years, before loads of new things coming but now it does look like stalled and coming back to begining, And when I see people buying 3060 laptops and crazy expensif computer, just for touch designer I'm thinking what a waste of money, since majority of projects do require loads of processing power and TD only using one core for instance, recording your performance generally kills it FPS wise even with strongish pc. Maybe the blame is also for nvidia that looks more interested in selling cards than making 3d programing accessible. I'll just be patient and wait for 5th technologic revolution or something to happen, still fascinating software, even if it will not get you a real job, and not so glamour as described. that is only my opinion of course, have a good day!
