What goes up sure goes down. I will never ever forget how me and my friends were all standing around watching this unreal comeback and not moving at all. We had to stay in the same spots when the game was going on. Two straight touchdowns and also two point conversions. The big hit by Hightower that changed the game. The unreal catch by Julio Jones and the bat crap decision by the Falcons to not just down it three times and kick a field goal. Six years ago now what the H

I.LOVE.THIS. The Man of Steel theme! Man of Steel is my all time favorite movie score and it is perfectly fitting for my Pats and that historic comeback.

Watching this seven years later is so great. Fred is just so sick of Deflate gate and Rich wants to bask in the glow of Roger Goodell getting booed at the podium and then in Brady's "Roger That" commercial. It wasn't enough for us to enjoy the greatest comeback in NFL history and the first overtime Super Bowl, we had to continue to make Goodell the villain. I see both sides now but watching Fred squirm though the first hour of this is priceless.

this may sound unbelievable. But i knew all along they could do it. i was on the phone with my best friend reassuring him the whole time and when they finally did it it was like living a dream. people may say that they were stained by controversy but that night i think the whole country was rooting for the at one point. and that song they played "the greatest," was fitting. oddly though i truly believe that this one event set in motion a series of events that would eventually destroy them. because of this they decided to bend the knee to brady and trade garopolo.

A Falcons' fan's perspective (from Steven Godfrey, Secret Base's "History of the Atlanta Falcons, Pt. 7"). "I decided the confetti would not touch me. That was the line that I drew, that was the one indignity that I refused in my entire life as an Atlanta Falcons fan. The bags released from the NRG Stadium ceiling and I just started hopping along empty seats, around and through Patriots fans, behind Falcons fans doing the same thing. Abandoning the site of what had happened as fast as damn possible. This manic exodus--probably the most athletic feat of my adult life. The dry heaving started as soon as I got to the concourse. One of the 'official partners' of the Super Bowl was Uber. But the service itself was a nightmare to navigate. Thousands of people wandered through the different layers of security around the stadium, because you just don't enter or exit the stadium during the Super Bowl. You go through tiers of checkpoints like customs. This system was implemented after 9/11 to slow mass migration in any one direction and to potentially pocket or seal off a crowd from a targeted event. I waited for an Uber for 55 minutes in a single file line. I read apologetic texts from family members. In front of me was a man, probably in his early 20's, dressed in a personalized black Falcons jersey with the nameplate 'Harambe' and a double zero. For close to an hour, I stood in total silence behind 'Harambe.' Behind a man who'd spent at least $200 to take a humorless internet meme public. A man no greater or less my peer, who chose to embrace this game and its aftermath with tasteless indifference. He laughed. He bummed cigarettes. He drank from a plastic flask, and at one point he farted loudly before screaming 'SAFETY!' Great tragedies demand great endings. And instead I was delivered Harambe, the asshole. A funhouse version of my fandom laughing at the most ruinous investment of my life. The ROI on cheering for the Atlanta Falcons is as poor as any lovable loser in sports history. The Cubs, or Maple Leafs, or even the godforsaken New Orleans Saints themselves. But there is no love. For generations of lazy sportswriters, there is no easy hook to love Atlanta. A city too hot, too young, too black, and too transient. Falcons fandom is worse than sunk cost fallacy: no one understands why you invested anything in the first place. I do not mourn February 5th, 2017 because we lost the Super Bowl. I mourn it because I lost the chance to stop. I have to keep going, because I believe at some point this franchise will hand its fans SOMETHING to show for all of this. Even after this moment, the greatest, cruelest act possible in NFL history. We are only losers, even when we're winning. Because the sheer absurdity of this franchise is anathema to empathy. The Falcons will build and break, and build and break in increasingly spectacular ways. Very few people love them. Most will not care at all. Maybe their real failure is the inability to explain exactly how and why the hell they're capable of this." I dunno about you guys, but this Patriots fan found Mr. Godfrey's monologue tragically hilarious.

Down and out. Forgotten and bleeding out. Brady faced down a ferocious defense determined to destroy him. He was near deaths door.... Then the all powerful Brady launched the most massive comeback in history to take down a threat that could not be defeated. But Brady did just that. Establishing himself the ultimate. The all poweful. The patiots assembled. The ultimate. The greatest. Fuck ya!! Patriots forever
