Marcelito doesn't speak Spanish but he was invited to Spain to sing and wanted to learn a song in Spanish for them. He learnt this song in 1 week by listening to it, amazing. He also sings in French, Italian and Chinese all languages he doesn't speak. Very clever guy considering he dropped out of school when living on the streets, all credit to him. He is very funny on stage too. Lovely reaction from you both.

Marcelito Pomoy has long been more than just a talent. He is a legend! He is 'THE MAN WHO SINGS DUETS ALONE.' My personal opinion is that Leonard Cohen's beautiful song 'Hallelujah' was meant for one beautiful young singer. I don't need to name her, do I?

Consider he’s had zero training, no school since he was deserted by his mother to live on streets alone from age 7 to 15; father was in prison. Only fluent in Tagalog. He’s kind, humble and truly feels blessed. Supports those in need in his home town. No ego, just kind. Marcelito doesn’t really have an entourage or team, just his wife. It’s usually the venue.

Generally, we Filipinos dont speak Spanish. Only a part of the Philippines which is Zamboanga, a city down in Mindanao part of the Phil. Spanish as a subject in college was scraped off feom the curriculum by 1987. Could have been great if I was able to learn the language in college.
