Hey bud if you flip your suspension on the trailer so the leaf springs are above the axles instead of below it. This will raise the trailer up and allow for better dumping as well as better stability while towing those heavy loads.

Hi, for adjusting the forks, I found it easiest to put the forks exactly vertical and that way the forks slide like butter. I ve got a JCB 1CX, skid steer backhoe with some pretty darn heavy forks

And even now since my body gave out, I enjoy everything. Getting the mindset of the true costs & planning it takes to do quality work, can take decades to learn. Even if you dont/can't do the work, having the knowledge allows the better education of the general public/customers, because the more folks know, the more likely the sleazy contractors get weeded out. The disinformation cause "Uncle Joe says...", hurts everyone. Hey Stan @ 14:27, what about a small knee wall coming out at a 45 degree angle to transition the two different grades on that corner. That way you could raise the grade along the "back" of the house to cover up the tar line, and the still keep the 8" on the lower half of the grade. Additionally from that small wall you could build a slight swayle out from the corner to get that water away from the house and break up the sheet water discharge heading to the other boulder wall. Another great video! Here's a thought again! We did this for hauling snow w my 3 ton Ford dump truck manly! Grab a fairly sturdy aluminum pole One that a bicycle hand grip Will fit on one end & use a lil water To attach the hand grip to the end of the pole & at the other end Rivet on Or bolt on A flat sturdy piece of steel That's about 6''-8'' x 6''-8'' & then use it While you're behind the box Or when you're inside the box It's a real back & time saver P.S. To hang it Weld a hook On the front side Higher part Of the outer box & weld another hook To the back end side Of the higher part Of the box & drill a hole At both ends of the pole snow helper & hang it & never take it off Can also be for When there's stuck dirt At the top of the box After it's lifted All the way! One or two tries & down it will come! Honest! Hahaha

When I first started doing bidding off of plans the first thing I was taught was "overhead will kill you", in some cases 100% of the labor cost! You have workers comp. (a big one!), fuel cost (another big one), down time (having to pay your workers while nothing is getting done), wear & tear of your equipment, "windshield time - the time it takes to get to the job & back, job site repairs - what is torn up by workers to job site while doing the job, and the list keeps going. If any of you decide to go into the govt. world of construction PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND. The govt. can (and will) take a full 6 months to make full payment on a job. "Short term" bank loans are ALWAYS a point to a point & a half over the present rate even if the job will be completed in less than a month, the bank can & will charge you for the entire month in interest. ALWAYS READ THE SMALL PRINT! Stan, great video so far! Look forward to the finish! Can't see that you've missed out on anything.

Here is a few tips for you number one. Hire a guy that knows how to backup a truck. He's taking time. Number two lay down a GardenMate Woven Weed Control Fabric the odds of you tearing up the grass is slim to none with your bucket. Number three I would have gotten just a little bit bigger tractor with a bigger bucket. You can get them where you can get through most areas that are not so wide. Number three you never go on a yard with the irrigation on. It can leave ruts that leads to ponding it leads to dead grass. Oh yeah and I would definitely be flagging the irrigation nozzles so you do not have to end up fixing it. For me my first job was picking stones. I've done excavation putting in sewer lines electrical lines in ground. And all the big water pipes that feed the systems to the houses. I've also was a supervisor with Southeastern grounds management. No I never wanted to be a boss I don't need the type of aggravation. And I could still make pretty good money at the same time. But anyway I can do complete new construction landscape jobs. Loan maintenance / irrigation. With my eyes closed. But personally for that job I would have done it myself and one other person. That knows your stuff. Not saying I am the best. But I definitely know what I am doing. Oh yeah LOL if you can back up a landscaping truck with two zero turns and a stand behind / trailer hooked up to it up a driveway like that without swaying back and forth. I would say he has done that a few times. I think I would have charged a little bit less a lot of landscaping companies always say their labor cost who knows if they're telling their customers they pay more for their labor than what they actually are.

Dump trailers are very handy. The one thing I have never liked about them is to much rear over hang behind the dump hinge point. That puts the tail far to low to the ground when dumping.

It's nuts to me how things are so different depending on where you are in the U.S. I did landscaping for about 9 years, Mostly in KS and about 3 years in AZ. They would never let us dump dirt or anything on top of existing grass like this. And even when we could we had to put down fabric or something to keep whatever was beneath clean. We would have to either haul it in by hand or if we were lucky we could scoop it out of a dump truck with a skid-steer or tractor. Usually by hand tho especially if it was in a back yard. I guess they saw they thought that fixing the grass or rock yard after dumping on it wasn't worth it. I don't know how lucky your guys realize they are to get away with so much lol. You make their lives so much easier at work at you own expense. It's pretty amazing! That would never fly anywhere I have worked lol.

Do you ever use sheets of plywood over the grass to kind of protect the grass with a load of soil or rock/gravel and giving you a harder surface to scoop the dirt from?
