WOW! I KNOW the camera didn't do justice to that terrain. KLR ate it up. Well done. Beautiful country, greetings from SW FLORIDA.

It was some tough terrain for sure, but yeah the KLR managed it well! Thanks for tuning in all the way from sunny Florida!

Cheers mate. Sadly I got a bit overwhelmed with no rear break, and fuel anxiety, talked my self out of it. Annoyingly got to dargo with heaps of fuel in the end! Good excuse to get back out there and try again though! Thanks for watching.

Hello- subscriber 819 here. Great riding and amazing determination! You are one gnarly and tough dude! Have to say some bits were sketchy, especially so close to the edge near the steep drop-offs. Those areas are beautiful but the terrain looks pretty difficult. Please consider having a riding partner in the future for these climbs. It would really suck to be injured and alone so far out there. Hope you at least carry an emergency locator device. Lecture over! Very cool vid and glad you made it back ok. Best wishes from Upstate NY.

@JabboRockets2 жыл бұрын
Oh man. You had that for sure! I reckon you would have made it with the remaining fuel. My KLR still has at least 5 litres remaining when the light comes on. I've camped at the spot too! Great content mate 👍
@NotShookADV2 жыл бұрын
I’d never really run the tank too low before this so I had no idea. That’s crazy that there is 5 litres left after the light, I must have had near half a tank left up there! ah well, it gave me an excuse to do another trip up there. I was always confused at how little fuel it would take when I filled her, now I know! Thanks for watching.
@JabboRockets2 жыл бұрын

Ballsy effort mate! Taking the big girl up there, in the wet with no fuel. Keep it up! Was up that way on my tenere this past weekend. That loose, shale rock crap is the biggest killer I find. Hit it, lose momentum and down she goes. Keep the videos coming!

@tonyrdr72072 жыл бұрын
Wow mate respect I did get my 650 up there but it was some time ago when the track was in much better condition like the blue rag. The Billy is really cut up now and I could not even get down it properly on my 300rally let alone up last year. You make it look so easy. Great riding indeed you really know how to pick your lines Excellent video shows the track really well.
@NotShookADV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah it is in a bad way, even compared to late last year when I went up there, it just gets worse and worse. It really punished me last time I tried it, so had to commit a bit more on this attempt. The bluerag is definitely a better track for these big bikes.

Great job , looks tough going. I've always thought the brake hose hangs out a bit far on the klr.
@NotShookADV Жыл бұрын
It was pretty tough in the end. The brake hose design is strange, not sure why it hangs out like that. Thanks for watching.

Good go mate- great skills and a lot of grit. I just put a Dirt Racks rear crash bar on my '22, I wonder if that would protect the rear brake?
@NotShookADV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. I think some sort of rear protection will definitely help. For this particular rear break issue keep in mind I had large soft pannier bags, which in theory would have cushioned the fall, so the break hit must have been direct hit to the caliper, and most likely crash protection in this case wouldn't have done much. But always the more protection the better.
@OzADVRider2 жыл бұрын
Wow, you certainly had a good crack at it. That rear brake caliper looks very exposed.
@NotShookADV2 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate, I gave it a red hot go. I’m not too familiar with how that calliper usually sits, but I think the video makes it appear like it hangs out a lot more than it does. I have my mate who is a mechanic going over it for me tomorrow, looking forward to picking his brain and learning about the breaks a bit more. Thanks a lot for watching.
