I follow and subscribe to many landscape photographer's channels. I learn so much from everyone. But Simon, you are the one photographer whose work I appreciate the most. I don't often get a chance to travel to those iconic locations so many photographers feature. Like you, because of work and other commitments, I'm pretty much confined to my local preserves and woodlands. You prove to me time and time again, photographs can be found just about everywhere. The woodland you were in for this video is very similar to what I have nearby my home. You give me the inspiration to get out in any condition and just LOOK! With patience, I will and often do find something. THANK YOU! Merry Christmas!

I often wonder if I had a limitless amount of money would I do anything different? I think I would go to some overseas places occasionally, but my heart will always be in my own country, and often close to where I live. Places nearby are so easy to overlook. Happy Christmas.

Hi Simon. Time seems to be one of the biggest challenges for landscape photographers. I've probably had the busiest Autumn in many years - lots of print sales have kept me busy but I was lucky that the Autumn colours kept going and going, so I was able to get a few good images! I always find this period between the end of Autumn and what I consider "proper" Winter to be quite uninspiring but I've got to try harder at seeing and working on intimate scenes such as yours here. Watching you work these scenes has given me a kick up the proverbial to get out before the storm arrives on Thursday. Many thanks for sharing. Best wishes for Christmas and the new year.
@SimonBoothPhotography11 ай бұрын
Hi Tim. It seems I’m the complete opposite to you in that I need to kick myself up the backside and get out to the larger scenes. I’ve virtually missed most of the autumn colour this year owing to work commitments. However, I intend next year to still stay fairly local, but go within one to two hours from my home to expand my options a little more. Happy Christmas to you and all the best for 2024.

Thank you for another inspirational film. Has given me the jump start I need as I've been sitting in the warm thinking it's too miserable and cold to go out, and the time of year where there's little to photograph. Beautifully pleasing images as usual

I’ve said it time and time again, there’s always something to photograph if you just leave the comfort of the house and go and look for it. Good luck in your adventure.

A pleasure as always Simon. Thanks for a great year of photography adventures. I blame you for me spending over an hour on one branch in a local woodland, and I still didn't get enough 'slices' for the focus stack! It was very therapeutic though. Did get a decent one of a fern. Merry Christmas and a happy 2024 when it comes.

Hello Simon, what beautiful images that call all photographers to slow down and just look carefully. I especially love the texture and depth that you always achieve. I may have missed this in the past, but this is the first time I have heard you mention your job. You have great knowledge about many aspects of nature (plants, trees and poop!). Can you share the nature of your work?

Yet another enjoyable film Simon, I especially liked the second image. As soon as you got into the video, I saw that beautiful stream and wondered if you would explore it for compositions, although, I don’t suppose having those trainers on would have helped in that regard. The landscape image is a beauty( amazing the difference a polarizer makes), and I liked the triptych superimposed over it at the end. Thanks for entertaining us all with your films, I shall look forward to more next year. From down under, wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

It was a bit of a nightmare that day when everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I was lucky to come away with anything to be honest and yes, absolutely going in that stream was a nonstarter considering that I didn’t have decent footwear. Thank you and happy Christmas.

Enjoyed your video as always. A question about your polarizer. The change you illustrated was SOOO dramatic. I never get that much of a change with my polarizer. Does yours have an ND component in it as well? I also use Kase.
@SimonBoothPhotography11 ай бұрын
Hi Vivian. My polariser is a standard one from case it doesn’t have a neutral density option. Often, it’s all dependent on the angle of where the light is coming from polarising filters work, particularly well in woodlands when it’s wet.

Thanks. I'll pay attention to that in the future.
