Reimu’s a good beginning character with few special abilities to worry about (unlike other characters) so it makes her great to pick up on right away. She has average speed, slightly above average melee range, and projectiles with great range no matter what style you’re using. She has a simplistic special ability as well, similar to Yukari of past games if you double tap while against a wall you’ll zip over to the opposite side of the field.

I suspect a lot of her moves would be from the earlier ground fighters, such as what she did in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody or Hisoutensoku and the like. Though because of the nature of Touhou, she'd probably get much more options for aerial attacks.

Love this game. A fitting one for the end of an arc, too, if we want to connect 10, 11, 12, 13, and this game as a sort of "religious focus" arc. (I didn't count SWR, Soku, DS, or FW cuz they're stand-alones and because I regard SWR as a game with more of a "classic" theme than anything else (EoSD, PCB, IaMP, IN; PoFV and StB are stand-alones and their own things to me.) P.S.: Also, HM's Magus Night is one of my favorite tracks in fighting game history. Well, that and Onigashima in the Fairyland ~ Missing Power and of course The Lost Emotion

Damn, I forgot to mention it in the game. That would be your popularity. It's not terribly substantial, but if you get it high enough to get a blue arua you gain a few buffs and if you do so bad that you get a red aura you get some debuffs. The only thing that's really noteworthy is that if you get it up to max you can pull off your Last Word. The circle is just another way of measuring that. The blue side shows how many things you've done to raise your popularity while the red bit shows all you've done to lower it.

Well, I've already got a few of them recorded on normal and it'd be weird to switch to Hard mode partway through. But another thing... I think a higher difficulty makes the videos less interesting to watch. I just went and did Reimu Hard mode and beat it on my first go with the same restrictions I put myself through here (no dying and no spell cards). And quite frankly, I had an easier time. Sure the AI was a bit smarter on the Cool Downs but that just meant I had to play a bit more defensively aside from that for all the spells they'd use I had to keep my distance and keep pelting them with my Y attack. Literally every spell was beaten that way, and it's not just the indisputably smarter option but it's almost the only option. Bosses throw out more bullets yes, but not enough to make me change my strategy, just enough that I can't do anything stupid against them.

It's your popularity, the blue means things you've done to gain positive popularity while the red is for negative. The gray "neither" is the percentage that is'nt effected yet

Oh my goodness, eyes are another story altogether, but that's more a case of her eye color changes more often than her ascot. Touhou 6 she had red eyes, Touhou 7 she has black eyes, Touhou 7.5 now she has blue eyes, Touhou 8 now it's possibly brown eyes... I'm entirely convinced when the manga artist doing that games artwork asks ZUN what color Reimu's eyes should be he instantly downs a pint of beer on the spot and says something at random.

Official. ZUN has occasionally released fighting game side-games alongside the main series (while working with Twilight Frontier). This game in particular is the 4th fighting game he made and the first one using the "free flying" style.
