At. 2.53. When they play "Ka Chou Fuu Getsu" line. (In this case, Ka = Flower ; Chou = Birds ; Fuu = Wind ; Getsu = Moon) They show Sanae at "Fuu" (wind) and Sakuya at "Getsu" (moon). (Let's leave aside the "Ka" and "Chou" for now). Sanae is a wind priestess while Sakuya's name has something to do with night/moon. Is it a coincidence or intentional?

Yeah, and all of them are also recurring playable characters. Even at 1.19. They also show Yukari at Ka, Yuyuko at Chou, Kanako at Fuu, Eirin at Getsu. Afaik, Kanako is the one who made Sanae her Wind Priestess. And Eirin has connection to the Lunarians (or herself is a Lunarian, kinda forgot). The question is, why Yuyuko at Chou? Because Mystia (a bird) is her favorite food? LOL... And all of them are considered 'elders' in gensokyo... And... all of them are 6th stage bosses...

I believe the reason ZUN doesn't want to make an anime out of Touhou is because he wants Touhou to be recognized as a doujin game series. So unfortunately, Touhou is probably never going to have an official anime.

Touhou can never be an anime because there's so much to be lost plot wise. As much as I love Fantasy Kaleidoscope, it fails to capture Touhou lore and honestly I don't blame them. It could be based more on canon but that's another story. Take for example the most recent episode of FK based on IN. It fails spectacularly to capture the essence of IN. There are 4 groups of playable characters, so basically 8 characters involved in a single incident, before the incedent even starts. Eight "good" guys plus eight more characters(including extra stage) that are again involved directly in the incident or stand in the way of the other eight. You need to somehow incorporate all four teams of playable characters, they need to interact to each other in some way that makes sense and they need to interact with the antagonists in some way that makes sense as well. If not, you are selling the game sort and there would public outrage. Furthermore, you need to establish and develop all characters. Take Keine for example, you need to somehow establish who is she, what powers does she have, why does she attack you etc. But wait, who does Keine attack? Which group and why? You can not have her not attack because you fail to demonstrate her powers. If you manage to decide that what are the other groups doing? How do you incorporate that she is Mokou's guardian or her Hakutaku side in the story? Can you now see the problem? And that was only one character. Even if you decide to go with Reimu and Yukari only, which is the most canon route possible, you still run into the same problems AND selling the game sort. You also need to include Marisa in some way because the Reimu vs Marisa fight happens. How do you go about that. Do you exclude Alice from the fight? What about the other fights between the playable characters in stage 4 and does it even matter? Not to mention establishing pre-existing relationships that the characters might have between them like, Reimu-Marisa, Marisa-Alice, Reimu-Yukari, Remilia-Sakuya, Remilia-Reimu and so on...where do you even start? IN *only* would have to be at least 50-60 full 20min episodes, supposing you have no knowledge whatsoever of pre-existing incidents and lore, to at least try to do the game justice, No anime studio is going to handle such a big and risky project unless it's *THE MOST* popular big name manga/visual novel/light novel out there, and even those might have trouble getting proper adaptations. The studio doesn't want to deal with the story structure (with the exception of expanding or diminishing the story for practical reasons) , only figure out how to go about animating it. Otherwise there is no way they are gonna accept such a huge project without even a guaranteed level of success. Where does you lore even *start*? Are you willing to include TH1-TH5 storylines or Ghostly Field Club? Where does your Touhou anime even start? *TL;DR:* It's too hard to establish a good narrative of the story, the lore is extremely thick to incorporate all at once, too many characters to develop and generally Touhou doesn't work in the anime medium.

It also same for any Shmup games like that Salamander OVA series which is failed to capture the game. Sure there's Lord British,Vic Viper and an Brains(Gofer,Gradius I Brain,Zelos Force(?), Gradius II bosses,etc) but there's no upgrade weapons(Ripple,Lasers,Option,Shield) like you do in the game. Just freakin machine gun all the time for reasons and the characters which it wasn't even needed as they felt like it was came from Gundam anime and if someone made an R-Type anime(Im sure there's an fan animation of this game made by same guy who made Star Wars TIE Fighter) it would be good for plot but failed to capture the gameplay of the game I mean how you could make an Bydro bosses in each episode and irrevalant characters again. The only Shmup games can be easily adapted into *Anime* was Dodonpachi series(If they do DaiJouDou and beyond),Radiant Silvergun(There's an anime cutscenes in actual game),Ikaruga(It has great background infomation in the manual).

Yeah, sadly so. We'll get more stuff like these music videos as long as other groups keep hiring them. One good anime adaptation done by fans is known as "A Summer Day's Dream" which only has two episodes out. Third one that concludes the arc has no release date, and it took like almost 3 years to release episode 2... (It uses a lot of high end voice actresses, which is suprising considering how expensive they can be)

More like how daunting. The entire team is exactly one guy, ZUN, who does all the music, programming, and visuals for all the games (except the fighters, 7.5,10.5,12.3, and the new Hopeless Masquerade that comes out on May 26th). He also works a full time job in IT, as well as being happily married. Meanwhile he granted permission to his fanbase to make any form of derivative work and sell it. He makes no money off any of it. He does partner up and release official manga though, so who knows.

That’s one of the beauties of Touhou, ZUN loves what the fan base does, and all the doujin circles and individual creators are allowed to use his characters, music, and story he created without worrying about licenses or copyright, and we only get two 10 minute episodes per year. So the author of Komi-San would probably want a real professional animation studio. Not saying that memories of phantasm is bad, it has beautiful animation and music, and covers the storylines perfectly, but it’s not a “real” anime studio

Most people in the US fan base when it comes to Japanese items have very few direct news sources, and get info from people with very little knowledge of the language, so lots of faulty and false reports. The deal is that The first "episode" was released by the fangroup, but since that was very expensive the subsequent videos are music videos, each one for whoever hired them to promote a song. The group releases early previews at each convention for the next music video before the full one.
