Hee-hee~ My Renko (my partner Lori-hime) is very into baking and sweets -- so when I first drafted these lyrics, I specifically asked her if she had any favorite sweets that she wanted to include in the song. Her answer was macarons. So we worked it into the lyrics, and decided it was "canon" that Renko really likes macarons. 🤭 Thank you very much for noticing her genuine enthusiasm!

I've been listening to your touhou lyrics for a while, but recently, this one has just had me entranced. The vivid descriptions and vocals are just amazing. One thing I wanted to ask about was what you were referring to with 'that famous brew'. What I was thinking it meant was the Hourai Elixir, but if you still remember I wanna know what you intended. Thank you so much~ I'm really glad it succeeded with that "charming" fantasy vibe! You're right! I intended for them to be talking about the elixir of immortality. In the CD story for Magical Astronomy, it's one of the various topics that the two girls chat about while sharing a snack at their local (earthbound) café. Merry asks Renko whether she would drink the legendary elixir, given the chance, and Renko answers that she definitely would. She compares the state of immortality to "a state neither alive nor dead, as if you were in the living world and the Netherworld at the same time... a Necrofantasia."

Something about these last 2 duet just... don't resonate with me very well. I can't tell if the original songs themselves are just awkward to piece lyrics to, this one in particular, or something else. Hiroshige No. 36 just seemed to drone on. I stand by the stance that Greenwich in the Sky was by far your best duet.

Sorry to hear that... ;-; I agree that the style of the CD songs often seem more atmospheric and less inherently suited for singing, with the exception of Greenwich which was begging for lyrics which is why it was the first one we did. However, one reason we keep doing more CD songs (besides being obsessed with the Sealing Club, and keen on excuses to duet) is that they communicate such nice workable concepts and scenes in the context of their stories that are easy to inspire lyrics, and that sense of context is something I find valuable and rewarding in a song, even if I must concede that this one had to mess around a lot to keep the melody.

Lyrica Live Yeah, I can appreciate the craftsmanship of the lyrics, I love the puns and references. They also fit an everyday kind of for the sealing club. By all means it's still a good song, and I give credit for doing it with such an awkward song to piece lyrically.

I love these lyrics, especially all the metaphors between space and sweets. But I have to say the voice of Renko isn't great, she sounds rather unemotional and muffled most of the time, and the pitch of her voice doesn't contrast against the song as nicely as yours does, instead it comes across as restrained. She doesn't really fit the song or the tone in my opinion.
