With YYC it compiles down to machine code, so this might as well be the most performant Touhou engine. Nice

That... is something I didn't know myself. Well, I guess I must consider doing that once I export my game. Thanks for the info!

@@KurenaiTheScarletBullgon thing about YYC is, it removes the ability to mod the game, (except if you have plans of actually releasing the source codes) which means people cant edit the files or anything
@KurenaiTheScarletBullgon7 ай бұрын

Thank you very much!! That effect was done by taking a snapshot of the background, and then said snapshot is being drawn under a surface, which I can dye with any color I want. The waviness was done by using one of GameMaker's built-in shaders.

There seem to be some optimization issues when fire bullets are on screen or when there are "too many" (but really not that many for bullet hells) bullets on screen.
@KurenaiTheScarletBullgon6 ай бұрын
That's pretty much what I've been saying to a few people in here.
@neosaver9 ай бұрын
Wow good job right there, it needs a bit more polishing but it is already pretty detailed! I'm not versed in game making but three months seems like a really short time to do this. Are you going to release this when finished so we can make our own danmaku?
@KurenaiTheScarletBullgon9 ай бұрын
Thank you! While I made this engine first and foremost for my own personal use, given that I'll be developing my own fangame with this, there _may be_ a chance in the future in which I'll be handing the source code, as I said in the video.
@henrym50347 ай бұрын
it looks really promising! a problem with danmakufu is the frame rate drops pretty fast - will Hourai Elixir style patterns (aka bullet spamming) make it lag?
@KurenaiTheScarletBullgon7 ай бұрын
I think I've mentioned that in another person's comment, but my game does lag if the bullets reach over 2000. I've been trying to find ways to optimize them but none have been successful, so right now I've added a limit so that no more than 2000 bullets are on screen.

wow this is very proffesionaly, have you posted this somewhere? or where did you get the training to create this and also How was work going?, non-stop every day? or impulsively
@KurenaiTheScarletBullgon10 ай бұрын
I have posted a few short clips of my progress inside a certain Discord server, but besides that, this is the first time I've shown this publicly. I have followed a decent amount of tutorials to get what's shown in the video. As of my work schedule, I pretty much just did progress on this whenever I felt like it, haha. But now, I'm very determined to continue polishing it and make a full game out of it.
