@clarenceflam no to be a principality Wales much be (and I quote) "A monarchical feudatory or sovereign state, ruled or reigned over by a monarch with the title of prince or princess." We were a principality... though the last real prince of Wales was killed many centuries ago. But today, for various historical reasons, calling the country a principality is considered a bit of an insulting term (like calling a black man a slave)...
