Nike missile site DF-01 (what;s left of it) is a few miles north of where I live. It was decomissioned around 1968 and has deteriorated over the years. I understand there is at least one Nike site, somewhere near San Fran, that has been preserved as a museum, but I sure wish they could have preserved more if not all of them. A lot of history has been lost. Thanks for sharing this. It's great you got to meet Rocky and get the personal tour. Happy trails

he said it felt good to be back in the days of his youth. I sure am glad he made it out to California again

Very cool... 🇺🇸 You're getting closer to being a Clamper. Rocky seemed like a cool dude. Thank you for your service, sir. Interesting area, places like this exist all over the place. Great video in the making. I'm glad it was finally put together. Things like this don't happen overnight. Thank you for sharing. Take care Alan. 🇺🇲

Hey brother thank you for this wonderful video. Wow amazing history of the area. If it wasn't for you this kind of history might be lost. Appreciate you and all your content dude! Hey I went out to June lake and camped with my son. It was so beautiful put there did the whole june lake loop. Man it was nice! I just bought that book you showed on your video trials of the Angeles. Cool book can't wait to dive into it. But ya man thanks again for all your content.

The area I live is filled with lost history, trail of bells, native camps, gold rush stuff, pirate raids and so on, tell people this, they laugh, prove it to them, their jaws drop

Cracked me up when you looked at the donkey and said RUTH... Festus' mule... LOL... You like Gun Smoke as well as I do. I worked on Vandenberg AFB for a few years wiring up nuclear missiles for tracking. I worked on Telemetry for the missile guidance systems. Fun place to work and 35 miles of pristine coastline. I was there in the early 70s...

There was a Nike site on Mt.Gleason. I didn’t know there were sites closer to the city. Cool.

You should check out Aerojet Rocketdyne in Chino Hills… that’s another crazy spot we use to sneak into when we were kids in the 90’s

@@PHARRAOH Ya I go up in that gated community for work all the time, and right outside of it you can still see a bunch of structures and roads back there. There is a little dirt road you can turn down and if the gate at the end of that is open then you can take a jeep or truck up there no problem.
