Hey Jordan, Here are some of my ideas for your next videos: - Tours of the many rooms of your house and how it flows into one another - Sams club vs Costco comparison - House Rules for your kids - Boundaries with extended family and kids friends - car maintenance and the cars you have and car buying hacks - a tour of your garage

I second this!! ❤

No to the first and last one. For their own safety she should not be showing videos on the layout of their home let alone her children's bedrooms...and quite frankly the garage would be one of the worst things to share

One thing I implemented years ago was printing out pictures of which clothes go in which dirty hamper and hanging it above each hamper. For over 10 years now my kids from about the age of 3 on up know how to sort the laundry for me to wash. No sorting anymore, it's done for me. Then after watching your first video, I didn't have room for full size laundry baskets, but got the rolling hamers that have like 3 bags on them, put a name on each bag and sort it right out of the dryer. Very easy system!

LOVE this design! I was a commercial interior designer and worked on hotels from time to time. I am quite impressed that you - independently and without any direct architectural training - arrived at many of the solutions routinely applied to hotel laundry rooms (the two-way access linen closet, for instance). Brilliant!

Really love your suggestions! I can definitely see where exposed laundry baskets would work really well! Function over looks sometimes is best! Especially with a big family!

I don’t even have laundry in my home, but I still love watching this video! I did adopt your method a few years ago of sorting by weight instead of color. Something I do, is I have multiple baskets for dirty laundry and we sort it as we put it in the baskets which means no sorting on laundry day!

Lots of good tips. Instead of using a door for the bigger stuff like comforters, I will drape the item over the shower bar in the bathroom and that also works really well.

That's awesome! My mom and dad taught me how to do laundry when I was 6 because I was curious. My stepmother was not happy that I didn't want her to do my laundry, but my goal has always been to be completely independent so my parents can rest sometimes.

That's the same set up my mom had when we were growing up. Our laundry room was in an outbuilding next to our house. There were 6 in our family and we were farm kids who had play clothes and school clothes, so there was plenty of laundry. And yes, we had 2 washers, 2 driers, a hamper per person for our individual clean laundry, and many hampers for sorting loads. With my 3 kids and homeschooling all of them K-12, we had 4 hampers: whites, colors, darks, towels, in the master bathroom's walk in closet. (We had a notecard on each hamper with drawn pictures of clothing items in the designated colors for pre-readers.)Kids bathed in the master bathroom for the sake of making laundry sorting easier. On laundry day as soon as the dryer buzzer went off we stopped what we were doing and it was all hands on deck and everyone ages 3+ helped put all clothes on hangers, (no folding at my house), sorted undies and socks, rolled towels, sorted bedding, and put it all away. Then we got back to what we were doing. When they turned 8 years old they became responsible for all of their own laundry and were assigned a day to do it. We got a step stool so they could reach the bottom of the top loading washer. Best thing ever. Don't do your kids' laundry of they're over 7-it infantalizes them.

I guess I can’t picture how your kids do their own laundry when you have this sorting system they would have to do multiple loads to wash their clothes. Do they use the pull out bins or is that just for you? Also do you have days of the week for them to do laundry cause how do they all have time to each do 5 loads? I love the idea just not sure how it would look in practice and in flow.

Hi, im not a mommy and probably have a few years till then but have always been super big into learning about how to be a mother . So my question is, when you give them chores, what do you believe is your responsibility in chores and then whats there responsibility in chores. ( what chores are only for you and what chores are mainly for the kids) Aka how do you delegate tasks
@shelymarks9528 ай бұрын
It’s so easy to make the excuse of “I don’t have ___” or “I’ll wait until I have ___” to make a system that works (I’m very guilty of it myself) but at the end of the day those are just excuses and while, yes, it will be harder with less space and less machines, it’s still doable. P.S. you best believe my first adult chance I get to have 2 of each I will 😅

Wondering how you handle towels and each person knowing which one is theirs. I had 12 children (only two left in the home, others have launched). I found white towels with one small colored stripe. Each child had their color. I did that with tooth brushes, cups, combs etc. Helped to keep it from getting overwhelming.
