I also did this tour a few weeks ago, even though I had little time. Besides, I published a video of it on my youtube channel with this year's exhibition. What you said when you left this exhibition is very moving, but I think it's important to accept reality without being saddened. Happiness is not a destination but to be found in what you do every day. If everyone was lucky, the word wouldn't exist. Very nice video, good continuation Kendal!

Nice, I will have to check it out! I have little happinesses... but it's the big ones I miss and desire. A feeling of purpose, community, and self-sufficiency. I'd settle for the self-sufficiency for now though. haha.
@Emro Жыл бұрын
@@kendalbrenneman We're all aiming for the top of Maslow's pyramid. Desire is an irrational, obsessive and impossible to satisfy wish, which relates to the possession of something, from the moment one possesses it, one no longer desires and boredom sets in. In reality desires will never end (yes I reread my philosophy lessons). But as for your case, I find that you are still one of the women who has managed to bring together a small community on your social networks and your content is really interesting. If you want to please as many people as possible, perhaps you should change your content and in this case no longer please yourself in what you do. I don't know how old you are, but you must be much older than me and so I can't put myself in your place to feel what you're saying. Personally, I'm 20 years old, I'm at university, I have a video game project where I also have a community, I enjoy my studies, I have friends with whom we often laugh. And what makes me happiest in life are these immature friends who do crazy things! You should have some too haha. (Sorry if there are grammar mistakes, I'm French)
@kendalbrenneman Жыл бұрын
@@Emro Desire is definitely a frustrating thing, there's always something more, something else. As for the content... I've learned that if I have no interest in something, it is very difficult for me to do it! Probably why "normal" jobs don't last long with me. :-) Yes, I'm older than you, and I think the fact that I didn't go to university and don't have a normal job where I see the same people, and that I've moved several times, has made it difficult to have a friend group. It's something I've always wanted but have always done exactly what I shouldn't, if that was my goal. :-P I think I was focused more on trying to start a career when I was 20, and not worrying too much about friends. I had friends... but most of them didn't know each other. Now... well I can't speak for everyone, but it seems when you get older, and people start pairing off and having kids, they have less time to be spontaneous and silly. I frequently wish I had some people around to play capture the flag, or paintball, or go on random weekend getaways, or out dancing... but in this "new" town... it's hard to find anybody who wants to do that, at least in my age group. But I'm going to do my best to go visit my old friends and have fun. Because life is a bit wasted if you aren't having fun with friends. :-)

We all have our own paths in life. Keep in mind Audrey acted because she enjoyed it not because of the fame which actually brought her a lot of anxiety. Act because you love to act and love the process and your life will be just as fulfilling as Audrey's was
@kendalbrenneman4 жыл бұрын
Well, she never wanted to act, she only did it because she had to earn a living. I personally really wanted to act, since I was a teenager, and I left home at 18 just to do that. Sadly, a lot of acting work is unpaid, so you have to make choices as to whether to act or pay rent sometimes. I suppose it's like Audrey and dancing. She had to give up dancing because acting paid better! When I have the time and money to create a short film, I have done so, but I can't keep funding them on my own. And I can't fund the sort of things that I really dream of creating. It's not about acting in any old thing just to say I'm acting. It's about creating really GOOD characters and really GOOD stories that you're proud of. But it's not simple, nor easy, nor cheap, so at some point, you want your career choice to pay, or you have to give it up.

i’m going to switzerland in just under 3 weeks and i’ve been suffering with 3 family members passing away in the last 2 months. one being my grandma, we bonded over audrey films so much. i initially wasn’t sure if i’d be able to make it to where audrey lived since it’s 3.5 hours away from most areas but now i think i want to make the time for the both of us. it really is once in a lifetime. hopefully the weather is kind when i’m there and can afford to use a day to go see the audrey sites. is there just one audrey exhibit? also, is everything walkable such as her home, resting place, the church, and etc? we would be taking a train from the Jungfrau region.

Hello! I'm so sorry for your loses, that is a lot at once to deal with! Let's see if I can answer your questions... I only know of the one museum that has exhibits, and this is what they seem to have there right now: museebolle.ch Once you take the bus to Tolochenaz, her house is right across from the bus stop, behind the large hedges. If you walk up the street towards the main road, and then follow that a bit, you'll find the cemetery (a map will help). It's not far. The little church is also near the square where the bus stop is. I don't know the street names, but it's a very small village so walking around you should spot it! It's set back a bit, up a little path from the street. :-)

Not fair to compare yourself with Audrey. Audrey was given a great deal of grace in her life by God. She was uniquely prepared for that time by her childhood - the ballet, the war, her mother's aristocracy, and her european background. There are many venus that you could play audrey in besides a hollywood film. local theatres, etc. how about a one woman show - a one woman street show. you never know when someone could see you in action. or even your readings here on youtube. Much luck and love to you.
@kendalbrenneman Жыл бұрын
Yes, she had a lot of things come together at the right time and place for her to get her on her life path. A successful acting career is equal parts talent and luck! As for theatre... I love singing and dancing, but theatre itself was never my thing, especially being alone on a stage. I love interacting with a small group of people on set, no real audience, and then seeing the result, creating a world people can lose themselves in, and camera angles that really show the emotion on people's faces. I'm just more of a film performer than a stage performer. I don't even go to see plays, myself (shhh, don't tell! lol). I do want to do a few more things on KZbin, but I'm impatiently waiting for a little medical issue I have to be resolved. I feel like I haven't been making my best effort this year, but things come up... :-P Soon, though, soon!!
@kendalbrenneman Жыл бұрын
Oh gosh I forgot another thing, specifically about playing Audrey on film rather than on stage... because I will most likely never get to have a career like she did... being able to re-live it, on sets, on location, pretending I'm with actors like Bill Holden and Cary Grant... it would just be a dream come true for me. I wouldn't even care if I ever worked again. Stage... is just not the same, you know?

I'm not really a cinema expert at all, but I think there are probably a lot of mediocre films from the early days of cinema. I've read that they would be cranking them out constantly. A film star would be doing like, a dozen in a year. Then in the days when they had contracts with studios, they would have to do all sorts of silly films that they didn't even want to do... I think those films just sort of disappear or forgotten. Now... I don't know. There are probably a whole lot MORE movies being made, but we also have so much better access to nearly all of them, all of the time.
