I wish your kids all the best in a new school and country. I moved to El Salvador when I was 15 from California until I was 20. . I am now 48 and living in Nebraska USA . I was so intimidated and felt left out my first few years in a school so out of my environment. My anxiety drove me nuts but in time I made good friends and memories, that I will cherish all my life. I hope someday after 20 years I can return to El Salvador.

Yeah! But the majority of kids go to public schools here in the US. I mean, I was born in El Salvador and attended catholic schools, Domingo Savio, Don Bosco and Ricaldone. But I never gave it a thought when I came here in la usa to continue the catholic thing with my kids. But uniforms are great for kids. They don't judge themselves with whatever they wear and non- sense like that.

I have added the fees to the video description. The children receive instruction in a mix of both English and Spanish at this school. Most of the kids who attend have Spanish as their first language so English is emphasized more. We had to have a discussion with the teachers to ask them to use more Spanish with our girls and to give them an extra Spanish class during a week because their needs are opposite from the other students. They happily obliged our request :)

Did you need to do any apostille, translation or notify your girls report card for them to be accepted in the school? Did you need to go to the Ministry of education in El Salvador?
@BraveNewPath2 ай бұрын
Yes we needed to get a notarized translation of our daughter's most recent report card from Canada. However, this was just required for our 10-year-old (not our 7-year-old). We also needed to register her with the Ministry of Education in El Salvador. We couldn't get her report card apostilled in Canada so she was required to take an entrance exam in order to register her. She took the exam, but its completely in Spanish and no option offered for English exam - we did find a work-around though by having someone who speaks English at the ministry to be with her during the exam and translate for her. We then waited a week for the results to be available. She passed so they issued a certificate that we needed to pickup and bring to her school.

There is nothing like a private school in a third world country , where students are treated with white gloves and put in a bubble for their well being , perfect example “ Escuela Americana “ where there are many nurses , therapists, doctors and all the teachers must wear white gloves and pick after these spoiled rotten kids , but money makes a big difference . Here in the US my kids go to the second best school in the entire state where the school is very strict , teachers are tough on kids when it comes to homework , assignments and they need to keep at least “ B” grades to remain in this school . I am moving back to El Salvador but my concerns are these so called bilingual schools not only they are very expensive but spoil these “ well todo kids “ , I don’t want this type of behavior for my kids .

You probably never went to a private school in El Salvador - I did as a child, while there may be some spoilt brats, there are plenty of kids that are there for the right reasons. We were taught to respect the teachers, there was hardly and disruption and study/learning time was exactly that. I also experienced public system education in Australia and teachers were not respected, kids were disrupting all the time and it was difficult to learn. It was one of the worse experiences of my life. I would rather go to a private school in a country like El Salvador than a first world public school.

I imagine the children speak more English, the husband probably has been in Canada for a very long time. That is not rare including countries like Australia. As parents we work speaking English professionally- so some of the professional language/terms we use are more accurate in English than spanish. I can completely understand this family I would do the same.
