I love the out front sleeping arrangement! When I had fibromyalgia I begged to have my own bed and when finally in another room I started to heal! A fireman friend told me sleep is NOT a luxury you must have it! Visiting privileges are a perk now and not a sentence of deprivation.

Bob, you struck gold when you met Casey, what an intelligent and creative individual, and his explanation was very interesting, succinct. I love his ideas, during the whole interview, I kept saying to myself when does the creativity end? This guy is a wealth of knowledge and innovation, impressive, and very likable

I'm still starting out in a B, but once I retire and go full time, that size C looks like a sweet spot. I toured a couple of large RV dealers, and the small C's seem to off a lot in a smaller pkg. Add a motorbike for transport, and I'd be set.

this may be a dumb question, but do people ever lift regular RV's for more ground clearance?
@vanoramarv4193
@vanoramarv4193 7 жыл бұрын
Yes people do but not Dodge or Chevy rigs so much. Ford is the king for lifting up, at least before the new Ford transits which I have not seen a lift. That is why I would get a Ford class B or C, so it could be lifted or 4x4ed. I have seen lifts done on the larger GMC commercial trucks though. Here is an example of some Ford vans lifted. www.actionvansuspension.com/system.php

The other advantage Ford has, and it is HUGE, is that it has offers the same long body as the Chevy without the long wheelbase. So between that and the ability to lift, or 4x4, easier than Chevy, Ford wins for me and I am not a Ford fan, believe me. I am more a Toyota fan actually.

That's what we thought until we rented a 24' class C (similar to this one in the video). It was too big (wide mostly) and we had to mind parking more than expected and the mpg was much worse than we had anticipated
@missdragonfly1001
@missdragonfly1001 7 жыл бұрын
Most class c are going to get sucky mpg. You have to figure out what you want more. Size for comfort, storage, options, or mileage. Bob did a great video about this subject. If your looking for good gas mileage then a class B/van is the best route.
@golforfishing
@golforfishing 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I figured the mpg was going to be bad but it was horrifying. Also, there were situations where I wished it was 2 or 3 feet shorter.

True, that's why you have to plan to spend time searching to find a good one. Even then, make sure you get an RV inspection before purchasing. I know I'll be getting used and plan to remodel/repair, install modifications, solar, and so on for 6mos-a year before hitting the road full time. That way it's ready, I know it's quirks, and have it done the way I need it to be for full time living. They had several modifications that are ingenious on their rv. (Was in the next video)

G'day Bob, I hope you & Cody are enjoying yourselves, I am a little confused with the size of the RV's you are talking about. In the interview it sounds like a class B is smaller than a class C when he mentioned his next RV would be a Ford 4X4 Class B, can you tell me approximately the sizes of a Class A,B & C please. I know you have super sizes but just the rule of thumb would be good enough. As you know I am in Australia & have a 31ft 32,000 lb 4X4 Expedition truck that we live in full time & would be curious to know what class it would come into. Kind Regards & Safe Travels Mate, Steve.
@totoromyneighbour1524
@totoromyneighbour1524 7 жыл бұрын
The class is decided by the body type rather than length. In Australian terms, a bus is a class A even if it's a 21ft Hino. Class C is defined by having the bed over the cab, Class B isn't really referred to in Australia but examples are Sprinter-based campervans.

Hi Bob, I am about to become a new boondocker. I do not understand what this couple said about using her parents for mail. I did get a ups box po for several months, but I do not have family to help with mail. please help me understand this issue
@missdragonfly1001
@missdragonfly1001 7 жыл бұрын
Melinda Rose, they are using the address for tax purposes and mail. You need a legal address. Escapees offer that option and then can forward anything you need to the nearest post office where you are. Many videos about this. Check your po box and see if they offer mail forwarding. There is usually a fee involved. Escapees my seem expensive but the long run worth it as they sort out junk mail, if your looking for something specific in the mail you can call them and see if it came in and have them forward it. Forwarding is included, I'm not sure if there is a limit to how often, but look up their website. Great club to join as has many benefits.
