Tour Of Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom (VMK)

Here is a tour of Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom which was a virtual representation of the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom theme parks, containing areas and minigames which were based on real park scenery and attractions.
On May 21, 2008, the Virtual Magic Kingdom game was CLOSED by Disney. Many fans asked Disney if VMK was going to reopen. This prompted Disney to post a message on the VMK homepage that the game was a promotion, and was closed, and that there were "no plans" to reopen VMK in any form.

This game was my childhood! I used to run home from school just to play it and used to think about it while i was there. Oh god, the sounds and the music :( OH i miss it, i might be 21 but i think i'd still play if it were to re-open

Man, what memories!I remember when I was younger I used to jump right on the computer onto VMK to see new things or what was going on. Sometimes I'd just wander around. Boy do I miss it all,I hope Disney can find a way to create a similar game in the future :(

This game closed five years ago, and yet playing it feels like it was just yesterday. I was in 5th grade, and everyday, after school, this was it until 8:00 at night. I had tons of new friends (and a VMK girlfriend; who didn't?) It taught me more about other disney parks other than Disneyland, which I still go to all the time. I wish this game never closed. The day it did was when a part of my childhood died. Now I'm 16. I'm gonna be driving soon. But I still love Disney just as much as then.

The game is back now. Someone brought it back in 2013 and it's still going strong. They have added alot of new stuff that wasn't part of og game. It's called: MyVMK

@AhneimTv12 Disney said VMK was an ad for Disneyland's 50th Anniversay, but someone found a letter online that said the REAL reason it shut was because a dispute with Disney and another company that did the animations, backgrounds etc. over money.

On the oVMK website it's saying that it will be open this year. It says that "2013 is the year for OVMK.." I'm checking back every day for now on, I cannot handle it ! ;P It was so fun.

People go check out OpenVMK and the twitter page :D Nick (the guy creating it) said he was opening it before summer was over but i still havent seen anything the website still says closed. But he hasn't said anything about him not finishing or not opening it so i still have faith! Thumbs up if you want Disney to re-open VMK (Like we should make signs and stand between California Adventure and Disneyland and try to see if Disney will be reminded about how much we love VMK)
