That was good and thanks because this is the only way I'll ever get to see it. I think Chay took a "silly" pill or two!

This is true. He will keep Dear Old Dad limbered up all the time. Nothing wrong with a good gut-busting laugh!

Chay reminds me of my little brother. :) Really entertaining set of videos here Matt! I like it! I have seen OTIS and Sneider-Creusat. But are there more elevator brands in that tower at the moment?

I have been on the eifel tower in the summer of '99 on a school trip. I only went as fas as the second platform but I walked all those stairs up and down. We got a free ticket from school, but if you wanted to go all the way to the top you had to buy the extra ticket yourself. I seems so long ago I was 15 at the time. I'd like to revisit the eifel tower some day.

+dykodesigns2yt I would recommend walking down when yoi leave as you dont appreciate all the building's curves and structure until you see it whih you don't appreciate as much in the lifts. Going up to the top, well to be honest it wasn't that spectacular as you see the same as you do from level 2 except you are higher. There are usually massive queues also :/ if you were able to walk down from the top then would definately be worth going up there but unfortunately you can't

These 3 videos made me realise how enormously big the Eiffeltower actually is. I never actually imagined what the statistic 300m means.. Seeing the real thing from inside makes it clear. Got to go there sometime! It's only 400km from my home :D

+Richard van Pukkem Cool! I would really recommend it. It's a better experience that the Arch de triumph (I have a video on this also) as there are so many different areas to explore in the eiffel tower. I'd also recommend walking down as you see the structure from all different kinds of angles and makes the whole experience last longer :) Thanks for the comment and watching.

Had to watch it again and the drums and equipment remind me of the huge walking draglines in coal fields and such. Lots of power and I'd have stayed in the bottom. with the machine room. I can't stand heights and would've thought the whole blasted thing would tip over if I got to the top. Still a VERY good tour and Chay is a good narrator, but he's still goofy.

That counterweight looks VERY dangerously exposed. if a child puts their hands in the holes, it will lead to horrible consequences.

Hey you! You're not supposed to film this at night because it's illegal!

Only the French could try that! Saying the lights are "copyright".....! Fortunately, everybody ignores them or, as you say, this video is illegal!

Small encoder for such a big drum? I don't think you should be evaluating anyone else's design capabilities based on that statement.
@mrmattandmrchay7 жыл бұрын
I can't see the statement you are referring to, but I suppose the encoder doesn't need to be proportionate to the sheave itself. Just looks a little strange - massive wheel, small encoder in the middle.
