@@OutdoorRob I'm from Michigan and spent a little time in the UP so I'm not totally unaware. I was surprised at how close Isle Royale is to you though!
@OutdoorRob2 жыл бұрын
Isle Royale Rock Harbour is 45 miles from Thunder Bay and about half that from Silver Islet launch. Windigo Harbour is about 17 miles across from the nearest boat launch here about 30 minutes south of Thunder Bay. Next year I'm hoping to get back there diving again. We did a lot of trips there in the 1990's.

@@OutdoorRob Going there was always a big desire but sadly never achieved. Now I'm old and live in Georgia so I just watch vids of the area to get my fix.

Nothing wrong with that. Thanks for watching!

Very cool video of the islands... geesh.... we spend our whole lives looking out to the giant... and forget that there is so much more beauty to experience! Time to turn your boat into a glamper! lol

Thanks kath! There's a ton of beautiful islands behind the Giant but it's a lake that deserves respect and can be deadly. I'd love to tour and camp out there for the summer but my bank account doesn't love it. LOL!

Cool trip ! Don't forget your fishing rod next time 😁

I did have it but didn't find the time as the trip was shortened due to impending winds. Maybe next time I will fish. Thanks!

New to your channel, great content. I just bought my first boat. I'm in the Sault but I'm planning on going to caribou island this summer. Looks like there are a lot of great places to explore up your way, I might go a little further

Congrats on the boat purchase! I just got back into boating after about 20 years of not having one. Up the north shore from Silver Islet to Rossport is the area I want to explore next. Lots of stuff to see, wrecks to dive and there's a million places to hide from bad weather. Good luck on your exploring!

@@OutdoorRob I have only had the chance to dive once , but I think I'm going to get some gear and take a proper course. It will open up vast amounts of experiences to be had. I'm also going to do some magnet fishing.. you never know what you will find!

Right on, good luck!

I slept on a 20' racing sailboat moored to a dock one October. The harbour seals barked all night and with the rain every fitting on the deck leaked. There are a lot of fittings on a race sailboat. Wasnt a dry 2 ft in that cabin, as long as I could keep my face out of the drips, i was reasonably ok. Are the lighthouses open to vistors? Ever thought about posting a Premire video and all your fans could attack you in the chat?

LOL! That sounds like an interesting night! Haven't really thought about it...maybe some day. Thanks Fred!

Any idea what your fuel consumption was? Enjoyed the trip.

Not sure but it was around $75 at $1.34/L...distance was approximately 65kms. If that helps. Thanks Man!
