calling this a "beater" is objectively insulting lol. This looks stunning for its age.

568,000 miles on mine. 2001. 5 timing belts, 9 transmission fluid changes , amsoil oil changes and still runs like new. Update , tranmission blew up today. Sucks

Did you flush your transmission fluid in all those changes or drain and fill?

I wanted one since 1995...Finally got a 98 2yrs ago. My daughter hates it but I love mine. Decal reads "Lexus today because the ferrari is not reliable"😂 That's how you keep your money growing ...free financial tip.

FYI concerning dealership repair pricing. Quoted a price of $1530.00, that's one thousand five hundred and thirty dollars ,to replace a fuel pump on an 09 toyota corolla. Did the job myself. Pump was $170.00. Took me one hour to remove old pump and install new pump. Used ordinary hand tools that most everyone has around the house.

The first-aid kit should have some velcro on the back of it. It's meant to be velcroed to the backside of the pass-thru so that if a passenger needs the kit, they can access it from the pass-thru.

Even if you work at a dealership I would never take a 20 year old car there. You can do everything they quoted you for half the price but sourcing your own part’s and paying a local mechanic you trust to install. Nice little ride though !

I'll be doing most of everything myself. I agree with you for sure. One of my good friends works with me and helps me out with things sometimes because I get a huge discount on parts and labor. Other than some of the big things, most of everything else I plan on doing myself.

Quality of life improvements: a stereo with CarPlay/Android Auto. After that, ceramic window film/tint (SunTek brand). You can get a very light film (up to 80%) that will not reduce your visibility through the front or rear windshields. The reason for ceramic is to reduce heat from the sun coming through the windows.

I have ceramic tint on the Subaru and I love it. This one I might just leave as is because the AC works amazing, and it doesn't really bother me!

I was looking into an OG Camry but now I'm leaning into the ES. Would you say the upkeep is a lot more between models? and is this a much better driving car? The entire car, especially the interior looks so much nicer.
@subaruserenity10 ай бұрын
Personally, I would recommend the ES especially if you plan on driving a lot. The creature comforts are much better than the Camry and the ES just feels like a nice step up in general. Both cars are similar upkeep wise I'd say. Make sure you do your oil changes and timing belt/water pump on time. Great cars otherwise and either one will last you a long time if cared for.
