G and Andrus, We love watching your videos twice every week, you are very positive people and so very hard working. You have achieved so much in the past two years. Well done! May God bless you both in everything you do! 🙏❤🎉 We are buying a piece of land similar to yours near Vale de Prazeres. One question I have is how much does it cost to buy a tractor similar to yours, with the attachments? That seems to have been such a blessing to you both... and we love that you drive it too G!!! 😂❤

I haven’t made any comments on your work or progress to date, but you two are such hard workers, so resolute and resilient, not to mention fruitful, that I just wanted to applaud you both. It occurred to me that perhaps your “swimming pool” could be repurposed as a covered space for relaxing, with maybe a small plunge pool. Lots of greenery in pots and some comfy seating. Just a thought.

Just finished watching your video, and I want to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it, I have been out of commission health wise a careless driver, no insurance, I am disgusted with that pulled out in front of our vehicle and we could not stop, terrible accident, my husband, granddaughter, her cat & I were all hurt but thank our Heavenly Father, we were not killed. That being said, your video today was a breath of encouragement and helped take my mind off my aches. Thankful for airbags & seat belts but they are very rough on these old bodies lol. I did not tell you this to make you sad for us but just wanted you to know how much I always enjoy your videos. What an incredible video, that opening shot showing the layout of the property was fantastic in helping me visualise your land. And I personally just went from one jaw dropping discovery to the next because you have both accomplished so much both with the infrastructure and setting up the homestead proper (G’s food store was impressive for such a short period pf time) Im assuming the wish/ want list will have minor luxuries for the future like solar power etc A lifetime ago I was an IT manager in a wholesale florist, I developed a love for flowers that I never knew I had, so your lovely garden (just like your roses G) really captivated me. You seem to have made such great use of the simple things that on grid folks take for granted like that shower pump and a very impressive huge jungle shower area in that Im pretty sure is bigger than our whole bathroom. In one of the earlier videos I think I remember Andrius saying about potential shower plans for the big irrigation tank Thank you so much for taking the time to create this video for us a lot of question were answered and lot more makes sense because of the layout view. Be safe lovely couple, see you next time

when its too hot in summer we either get them to deliver last thing in the day, or at 4am in the morning, in times of extreme heat we mix ice in the Concrete to stop it from drying out to quickly. You can also do the pour and then put water on it to keep it from drying out.

A nice review. I noticed the way they draw property lines in Portugal is different than in the U.S. You do find odd shaped properties, but a good majority are square, or rectangular even in rural areas in the U.S. I know you want to be off grid, but I'd hook up local water supply if I could.

Thanks for sharing another video. The property has a strange on the map. Not a regular shape. Didn't think it so. In my mind saw it more as a long rectangular shape. Ur water resources seem to be more limited than i thought. For the future u will definitely need to recover rain water for certain.

In Portugal, when buying a property there are important factors to consider: - Whether it has water -construction (house, garage...) - near a vilage. The price of the property depends on this I like yours and it has potential.
@portugalitis2 ай бұрын
Thank you !!! when we looked for properties we looked something with good access, water, house, storage and some lovely landscape .. and I this was property number 4 which we seen ... after that we started to compare all others to this one and then we knew that we have to buy this property :)

I saw that last winter you had a runoff issue with one of you wells overflowing. Have you thought of getting a Tank [ not IBC Tanks] or building a water deposit on one of the high points of your land, or behind the Garage to store that water for later. You could use it then to help out with the summer with irrigation of the field by your gate and the fruit orchard.
@portugalitis2 ай бұрын
Hello Michael :) We actually got 4 IBC tanks where we store water (we set uo that system this spring ) we just didn't showed them in this video ... If we would of shown what we done video would of lasted hour .. ;) Thank you for watching us Gxx

You are both amazing. G`s canning is the result of so much hard work. Have you lost weight, working so hard in such intense heat? I hope it cools sufficiently for you to continue with the build. Best wishes from Susan in East Yorkshire.

I am using them everywhere as well !!! 2 more months and I will run out of them ... will have to plant so much more than this year !!!! than you think a tray with 420 seedlings cost just about 11 euros so that's not a lot ... and to buy onions in a shop is so much more expensive ... hope you having good summer !!! ;) Gxxx

Great Video, although it doesn’t show the amount of time and effort to get to the point you are today. Your garden work alone is hard work and effort to get the beds ready for the amount of growing of vegetables you do. And you have been focus on videoing the work on the house that to see the land dried out because of the heat of the summer doesn’t show how beautiful the land looks during the rainy seasons where the trees and grass and flower gardens makes it look like paradise. You have accomplished so much all through hard work and time! Congratulations of what you have done!

This was a lovely tour of your homestead 💚 I can’t wait to see your tiny stone home once it’s finished and you’ve moved in 😊 I’ve seen often the guideline that to restore you can expect to pay again the amount you paid to buy. Does that seem right in your experience?

Beautiful, just beautiful, Question 1.... was your property advertised as rural or urban? to enable you to live in house full time? As I see lots of rural poroperties for sale but not sure if you can get permission to live there? Question 2.... are there other similar properties for sale near your area? I know the one next door to you recently sold, thank you
@portugalitis2 ай бұрын
Hello :) Thank you for your lovely comment !!! it was advertised as rural but we applied for urban article to live in our barn which we in the process getting it done .. (one of our videos few months ago explains more about this ... ) Because this barn was build pre 1951 it makes things so much easier. BUT I would consult with lawyer before you buy or thinking to buy a property they would be able to tell you what can be done and if rural can be changed to urban .. what's what we did .. we spoke with lawyer before we purchased this property. We don't know any properties close by which are selling unfortunately .. we didn't looked either .. well we know one off grip property which is ready to live in but not sure what is your budged .. they do sell that property over 100K
