Man, the level of detail Mr Cawley has put into this project is insane! He even got the Mario Bava style coloured lighting spot on. You can really tell a lot of love went into this, not to mention a tonne of time and money.

One thing i forgot to mention, in the transporting room, he couldn't figure out what they used for the wavy material in the background, until one night onstage performing as elvis, the light hit the drums just right, and he realized that material was drum wrap!!

I went on the Ticonderoga Tour a few years ago and it blew me away! It's amazing how much detail they put into the construction of this place. Every Trekkie should come visit this wonderful museum. Thanks for relaying those tours anecdotes!

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad you visited that museum! I know a lot of the people that worked very hard to put that all together. A lot of those props are actually replicas but the people that made them are absolute sticklers for the details. I'm actually working on a prop from the show myself (but not for this museum). Yes James is awesome and it truly was a labor of love. I've watched them build all this from the very beginning. Its on my bucket list for sure!

I went to one of the traveling shows hosted by a science museum that was set to coincide with the release of the first JJ Abrams ST Movie. I paid $20 (on top of the museum $15 fair) to see what I believed were actual TOS props. It turns out they had a few costumes but MOST of what they were showing in the $20 exhibit were replicas of the screen used props. The whole show (except for the 8-10 costumes) was a LIE so they could host many shows in many cities simultaneously. I was so disappointed. I had been totally suckered of $20+ the museum's regular fair. In retrospect, I realize that the actual props didn't work any better than these replicas... but it was the idea that you were paying cash to see the actual thing - then to find out it was even the real fakes... they were just fake fakes. So disappointing.

Wow wow wow a dream came me true you have taken me to a very happy place in my life, Star Trek was all that! Watched it over and over, loved all the characters especially Lt Ohuda (sp) because of the time women weren’t given special cameos like she was, Caption Kirk I was then love with and Spock was the bomb, such a series way ahead of its time. Loved this video, Jordan! I was 12 when the first episode of Star Trek debuted on TV in 1966 and I fell in love with the series immediately. I was so bummed when the show was cancelled in 1969. I was very, very hesitant to watch Star Trek: The Next Generation because I couldn't believe that the new series would even come close to the original. Boy was I wrong! I won't say I liked it more than the original, because they each had their own appeal and stories so I'll just say I loved them both. Jordan, if I heard right, you said you hadn't seen any Next Generation episodes. If that's true, you're really missing out on an amazing show. Like any new series, you need to give it time and watch several episodes before passing judgement and if you do, you'll love Next Generation as much as the original. I'll admit, I'm somewhat of a hypocrite in that I never watched a single episode of any Star Trek series that came after The Next Generation. I became a single parent with 4 kids in 1998, and didn't have the time, even though a couple of the new series had been showing for several years afterwards. I also thought nothing could beat the original Star Trek and The Next Generation. Maybe when I retire, I'll check out the other series that came after Next Generation. I've seen every single Star Trek movie though and I think my favorite will always be Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home! Keep up the good work Jordan and give Jaw a hug for me!

I did the Set Tour several weeks ago, when Shatner was at Ticonderoga for an event at a nearby elementary school (which really needed better air conditioning -- it was as hot as a horny horta!). Great fun to see this almost perfect re-creation of the Desilu studio sets. One thing I noticed, though, which jarred just a bit, was the chronometer console on the Bridge just in front of the Captain's Chair -- seen at 26:12 in this video. It must represent how the set was designed for the original pilot "The Cage" rather than how it was altered later on, when they filmed the TOS episode "The Naked Time." They didn't invent the "stardate" concept until they made the 2nd pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before" -- and thus the clock-console doesn't depict the 'stardate' on this Bridge set. This set has HRS 🔘MIN on the Left ["10:37"] and 🔘 SEC on the Right ["31"]. But when they filmed "The Naked Time" they changed this so that there was a STARDATE clock on the Left -- a number between '0000.0' and '9999.9' representing a decade's worth of Time -- and a SHIPBOARD clock on the Right, which was a 24-hour clock running from "00:00:00" to "23:59:59" and in that episode we see both clocks clicking BACKWARDS through Time due to the Enterprise having to do that cold-start of the engines after Riley had shut 'em down, with Spock's efforts resulting in the ship going back in Time for the first time ever . . . until Kirk had the engines go on 'reverse' until the backwards-clicking clocks stopped going backwards and then resumed going forwards again. Since they didn't have "stardates" in "The Cage" the original blueprints for this part of the Bridge set wouldn't have a "STARDATE" clock, of course, and Mr. Cawley's re-creation is true to the original blueprints, I am sure. But after that original pilot, they changed that set piece, having the STARDATE and SHIPBOARD clocks next to each other, as they had come up with the 'stardate' idea by then. The Franz Joseph STARFLEET TECHNICAL MANUAL has it the way we see it in "The Naked Time" rather than how it's depicted here at '26:12'. As I figure it -- ignoring what has been done in 'canon' ever since the end of the 'classic' Trek era and the TNG/DS9/VOY era -- the events at Talos IV occurred in December of 2252, and Starfleet upgraded its Constitution Class ships (etc.) when the UFP adopted the then-new 'STARDATE' system of time-keeping, wherein they decimalized the Earth year, with 1,000 StarDate Units ['SDU'] equaling 365.2425 days = 31,556,952 seconds, with each SHIPBOARD day equaling 2.737907006988508 SDU. I like to think that at the stroke of Midnight ["00:00:00 UT"] when 1 January 2253 began, the Stardate system began, its 1st decade's worth of time beginning then with Stardate 0000.0 [or, more fully, Stardate 0000.00.00.00 -- see the 3rd film for this fuller format], and coming to and end 3652.425 days later, 10.2 hours into 1 January 2263 (i.e. 0.425 days into that date), to begin another decade's worth of Stardate Time -- the decade in which TOS takes place. I don't know about other Trek fans, but I put the TOS episodes into Stardate order, with "Where No Man..." as the 1st (not counting "The Cage") at Stardate 1312.4 and "All Our Yesterdays" as the final adventure at Stardate 5943.7. If we re-interpret Stardate 1277.1 -- the date Gary Mitchell etched onto Kirk's gravestone -- as the date when Kirk's command of the Enterprise began, the start of the 5-Year Mission, rather than a 'birth'-date, then my system has Day 1 of the 5-Year Mission being 11 April 2264, which spanned Stardates 1274.70.10.56 to 1277.43.89.62, and the Mission would come to its end c. 11 April 2269, somewhere around Stardate 6275. Every decade they zero-out the Stardate clock back to 0000.0 so that the films -- well, from "The Wrath of Khan" through "The Final Frontier" -- are set in the decade beginning with the year 2273 (the decade after the TOS 5-Year Mission), and "The Undiscovered Country" is set near the end of the decade beginning c. 2283, with the Kirk-era launch of the Enterprise-B being near the start of the decade beginning c. 2293. The TNG stardates have the year 2323 as their start-time. Don't get me wrong -- I thoroughly enjoyed the Set Tour at Ticonderoga, but as an insufferable Trek nerd obsessed with the Chronology of Classic Trek, this one little disparate detail rankled just a teeny tiny bit. I'm sure it's accurate to the original blueprints drafted for the production of "The Cage" . . . but the actual TV show, which included 'stardates' that weren't thought of until after they'd made that 1st pilot, changed that set-piece to include the STARDATE and SHIPBOARD dual clocks, and it's too bad that this change isn't represented on the Bridge set Mr. Cawley built.

Although I liked the original Star Trek, I have never come anywhere near trekkie status...Despite this, this set and tour was mind blowing. Kudos for the labor of love and extreme attention to detail and all of the set used pieces and props. A side question...Am I only one who thinks the no filming policy but you can take a gazillion photos (here and elsewhere) is completely looney? I don't get what they're protecting.

Watch the episodes "The Corbomite Maneuver" and "Tomorrow is Yesterday." In these episodes the bridge turbo lift door entering the bridge had TWO doors, not the one RED door. The "inner" door color was the same as the corridor walls. When Kirk is going up to the bridge for the first time in the episode "Corbomite Maneuver" first the inner door opens a bit and then the red door opens as Kirk then enters the bridge. In the episode "Tomorrow is Yesterday" as Kirk walks Captain Christopher through a hallway and enters a different turbo lift (than the one on the bridge), there is a side view as the TWO elevator doors open. I did not see this nor on the other set duplicate that was used in making the great fan show "Star Trek Continues." Although the set door operators used only the outer red doors (at least for these TWO different turbo lifts on the set) during al most all the episodes, In one episode which I think is also in the "Corbomite Maneuver" (but I may be wrong) the door operator actually closed the "white" inner door on the bridge rather than the red door. But the camera quickly moves away from it so it is probably never noticed by most fans.
