Philly art museum is nostalgic from my childhood memories. I also visited last year too. Also a must for the Rocky movie fans with the steps in front of the museum

Great tour. The medieval section was my favorite. I was obsessed with all that knights in armor stuff when I was a kid.

Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of greatest art museums in all of North America. I appreciate your commentary ... it is intelligent and insightful. Sorry you missed the gorgeous portrait of Christ by Rembrandt.

I believe I saw it and forgot to document it. I agree, top Museum in the country along with the MET in Manhattan.

Smiled when I saw “Rain” by Van Gogh. I remembered being enthralled by it as a kid. You picked some fine works to highlight. Another excellent tour

Lived nearby from the time I was born till 1956 well within walking distance. We used to go there often because it was free back then. I remember the Medieval section had about 8 armored suits sitting on horses. The collection back then was on "loan" to the museum from a wealthy private collector family. I was young but thought how great it was of that family to loan all the armor and stuffed horses to the museum for me to enjoy. There was a pagoda and large chinese section that you did not get to or is no longer there. Me and the neighborhood gang would swim (1950-54) in the fountains that are on each side of the steps with that large one we see at the top. The Building is up high because that area, B 4 the museum was built, was a huge reservoir of water for the city of Philadelphia. 😀😀

I think I included footage of those armored horses. Glad to transport you back. I live in Staten Island and so Philadelphia is basically my other hometown. I visit quite often. It is a nice town, but it seems neglected in some areas. I gotta say though, that this museum is probably my favorite, more so than the Met. The views from the top of the steps are spectacular.

Wow! Great collection of art and artifacts. If you are ever in London go to the Tower of London, they have a fantastic collection of armor and weapons 👍
