I disagree with your statement about there being "nothing too exciting." beautifully done. I just did a similar project and ended up going with freestanding wire racks as I didn't feel like dealing with shelves in a relay rack. My speaker wiring is embarrassing by comparison but functional. great work and thanks for sharing.

That rack looks amazing! The new amp and processor look beautiful, and those half spacers you have make the look perfectly spaced in the rack. The amp isn’t that light though, and clocks in at a hair under 44lbs. What amazes me about it, is the power they got out of it compared to the MM8077’s that I run. Your Amp10 does more than both of my MM8077’s, all in one box. Again, amazing setup, and awesome work making it such a clean install!

Thanks! And they sound amazing too, even before I've done any tuning. Yeah, the weight is why I suggest you get the 4 post shelves that are rated at 110lbs vs. the 2 post that I think are rated for 50lbs.

Beautiful work! I really think you struck a great balance with dedicated theater vs cozy living space. Do the fans on the Behringer amp bother you at all? Also, I'll need to watch your other videos, but is the Fire Cube your only playback device?
@smarthomeMASTERY Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. The fans on the Behringer and AC Infinity are pretty loud. My seating is about 20 feet away and a little around the corner, so I really don't notice them unless it is completely silent. If your rack was out in the room near the seating, you would definitely notice. Yes, the Fire is currently the only input device that I have hooked up. I have an old PS3, but I don't really watch Blu-rays anymore. The Fire has a lot of streaming services on it. Disney has remastered a lot of their older movies with immersive sound, so they sound pretty amazing.

I am putting together my first rack. I would like to understand how you have used the patch panels for wiring the speaker wires using banana plugs. I am new to this so did not grasp it in the video
@smarthomeMASTERY4 ай бұрын
I used these: Banana Jacks: amzn.to/3kRRdDw Rack Plate: amzn.to/4f2KePG Then you run banana cables from your amp to the banana jacks that go to your speakers. Hope that helps!

Awesome Rack!! I plan on building a theater room in about three years and would like to duplicate your rack and equipment. On one of your videos, the cables connecting the receiver to the amp was black. I noticed your cables are different colors and a different size. Did you make them? Could you send me the info on your rack. I’m paralyzed from the waist down and believe I could setup the rack. Do you know how much a professional would charge me?
@smarthomeMASTERY7 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! There are three different cable types running from the processor to the amp. The majority of them are XLR to XLR. The other type is RCA to RCA. Because I have two rows of surrounds, I needed to feed two different sets of amp channels from the one set of outputs. There was no way to map another set of surrounds in the processor, so I took advantage of the fact that there are RCA and XLR outputs for each channel and fed the second row of surrounds from the RCA outputs (hope that makes sense). The last cable type is also RCA to RCA. It's a thin cable for remote turn-on of the amp. All of the XLR cables are the same size. I didn't make any of those, I purchased them. I think I have a link to them in one of my video descriptions. I made the banana cables that go from the amp to my patch panel. The rack is from Middle Atlantic. I'm not sure how much a professional would charge you. It's probably heavily dependent on where you live. I'm happy to answer any further questions though.
@0862ricky7 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! You are very helpful. I have a theater room and it looks nice but the soundproofing, equipment and rack are not up to par. I have learned a lot watching KZbin’s videos. When you add your two other Subwoofers, will you have to purchase another amp and don’t you only have one other speaker port available?
@smarthomeMASTERY7 ай бұрын
@@0862ricky The AV10 actually has 4 sub outputs on it, so I have two more available. I will be getting two new amps when I do that. I'll probably go with the Behringer NX6000's.

Great stuff. Do you have a link or a recommendation for the wiring trough? How about the track for the rack to move on?
@smarthomeMASTERY Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I used the 4' version of these: amzn.to/3wN6CYd ...except without knockouts. I had access to a hydraulic knockout, so I was able to make my own exactly where I needed them. You can use a Unibit like this: amzn.to/3XMHCwc to make your own 1/2" or 3/4" holes, but the trough I linked above has knocks in it already. Take a look at the description in my video where I show how I made it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZLcaqiIqJJke68 It has links to the parts I used, including the track.
