Thanks! Yes, it's just a 2x4s framed to get the rack up off the ground some for easier access to everything and in case the basement were to ever flood.

I'm a bit of a stickler for any kind of unwanted noise therefore when sitting in the sweet spot and a totally silent scene comes into play can you hear any noise whatsoever coming from the fans ? If you click on the red dragon twice and hit the interference video, you'll understand why I'm so hesitant! Love your dedication! 👍

Thanks for watching and for your comment and advice! I don't know what happened to your original comment, but here is the link that you tried to share: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rai4YZdpg8uFh9k Thanks for the suggestion - hopefully I won't run into those types of issues! 🤞 And as far as your question goes - I haven't got that far into the build to know if I can hear any fan noise yet. I can try to remember to reply to this in the future if I remember. That's another reason why I went with a projector box - hoping it might help with some fan noise as well, but who knows.

Looking like a pretty nice build. One question, how do you access the sub cavity with the rack in place?
@TyEichele
@TyEichele 11 ай бұрын
Thank you! The screen is mounted on hinges and swings open for access behind it. Otherwise I'd have to move the rack out of the way and go in through the panel behind the rack. Much easier to open the screen. My other videos show this - check them out!

What material you using for projector screen?
@TyEichele
@TyEichele 3 жыл бұрын
It's from Carl's Place (see link in the description on my videos). It's an acoustic transparent screen material. It's their Flexi-White screen.

Great video, how does the Onkyo get the signal from the Denon for the bass shakers? How does it synchronize with the subs, etc? Thanks.
@TyEichele
@TyEichele 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment and watching! My plan for the Onkyo getting the lfe signal will probably be the second subwoofer output from the Denon going to an RCA input on the Onkyo. If that doesn't work, then the Denon also has some pre-amp outputs I should be able to use to get the full signal to the Onkyo receiver. I'm hoping the second subwoofer output works because then it would already only be sending the LFE signals. Otherwise I'll have to set a crossover point in the Onkyo and let it handle sorting the low frequencies out. Another option I could use is an output from the Minidsp 2x4 HD and go to the Onkyo from there. It would be like using the second subwoofer output on the Denon basically. Hope this helps to answer your question! Stay tuned and I'm sure I'll do a video on it when I get to that point 👍

Directional cables…? could you please elaborate this, because i am skeptical
@TyEichele
@TyEichele 3 жыл бұрын
This is from their website: Directional shield layer is a spiral braid of premium grade Aluminum foil and 56 strands of 99.99% OFC tinned copper Shielding - critical part of five-layer insulation system. Soldered to ground terminal at the source side helps reduce EMI and RF noise between electronics. It's all part of their shielding system to prevent unwanted noise interference - hence, the directional arrows when going to hook them up. Would it work if you hooked it up backwards? I bet it would - but that wasn't their design and maybe it does make a difference since grounded only at the source end according to their description?

Big question. Are all RCA cords directional. I might have to take down some drywall if they are. Good thing they it’s not taped and mud yet. Really glad that I just watched this video too.
@TyEichele
@TyEichele 3 жыл бұрын
No not all directional - in fact, to my knowledge, most aren't. In this case it's more for shielding to help prevent unwanted noise interference from getting into your subwoofer - an added layer of protection basically. Check the make/model of your cables to know for sure! Thanks for watching 👍

Is there a particular reason why the rack shelfs are mounted upsidedown?
@TyEichele
@TyEichele 3 жыл бұрын
Personal preference I guess - I didn't like the way the sides of the shelf came up next to the vent openings on the sides of the equipment. Mounting them upside down fixed this issue.

Thanks for the vid. What made you decide on the T9 AC Infinity (top exhaust) versus the T8 (rear exhaust)? I have an enclosed rack that has fans built into the top, but my AVR will be closer to the bottom, with many other components between it and the top fans. I'm thinking that rear-exhaust fans might make more sense for me. Thoughts?
@TyEichele
@TyEichele 2 жыл бұрын
I knew my AVR would be at the top of my rack, and with my rack being open on all sides I just figured pulling heat straight up and out makes the most sense in my situation. You wouldn't want to blow heat on another piece of equipment above the AVR so go with the rear exhaust for your setup. Thanks for watching!

@TyEichele
@TyEichele 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I installed the shelves upside down on purpose to make sure the sides of the shelf didn't interfere with any airflow to the side vents of the equipment in the rack. That's the plain and simple reason. Here is a link to my avs forum thread: www.avsforum.com/threads/my-diy-basement-home-theater-build.3180715/ Thanks for watching! More to come soon 👍

I've been watching people that live in Wooden houses with Sheetrock for walls which makes it a easy installation for In-wall and ceilings speakers but I live in a house that has Ceiling, floors and walls done in cement. But I feel much safer living in a Cement house than a house with Wood and Sheetrock.. In wall speakers like Atmos and surround is impossible for me.
