We've made another trip to our favorite little Amish grocery store!
Fountain Acres Food is a couple hours from us (Fountain City, IN) & we don't get to go often, so it's a real treat when we get to stop in!
We bring our cooler & stock up on all our favorite things!
We didn't get footage of the whole store, but almost.
Sure hope you enjoy taking a look at all the wonderful things this store has to offer.

Your store looks wonderful! So big and the aisles look roomy. We have several Amish stores within an hour or two of us. I could spend all day looking at everything in them. And they are not nearly as large as this one - I don't think I would ever get all the way thru it. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

They expanded this one a few years ago & added more of these wonderful goodies. It really is a great store & I didn’t even show it all. I didn’t film the bakery / donuts or the freezer / refrigerated aisle. James was helping me film & we thought the other got them.

@@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel we've never been to amish country in Pennsylvania. We have a huge Amish community in Indiana (Shipshewana) which is about 3+ hours from us. Then we also love to go to Holmes County OH - the amish country there is gorgeous. Lots of shopping in both places.

We are fortunate to have amish stores about 10 minutes from our home. Love it!!! Ours looks a lot like yours. Ours are in Kalona, Iowa. Thanks for your video.

I'm from Racine WI, where those Danish kringles are made! You want the O&H Danish kringles from Racine, sold at Trader Joes and not the "Racine brand" ones. Those are the ones they sell at the gas stations here and no one in Racine buys them. We have several Danish kringle bakeries here and O&H is the best! If you ever see the turtle flavor, that's my favorite! What a fun store! Thanks for taking us along with you!!

We bought a brand new camper last summer..I'm hoping to camp in areas where there may be Amish communities..with hopefully, salvage grocery stores as well as other fun stuff to see :) we are in central Indiana. Farrrr east of indy. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. :)

How exciting! When our sons were at home, we tent camped and then upgraded to a trailer and camped in that for many years! Made some of the best memories ever! We often go to Shipshewana. For many years we camped at a campground called Amishville USA (my husband‘s family actually camped there when he was a little boy). It is in the area of Berne, Geneva, Portland IN. That is an Amish community and we’ve always enjoyed visiting there. They have Swiss Heritage Days maybe in the fall and we would try to plan and camp around that time. And we absolutely love the Holmes County Ohio area. It is some of the prettiest Amish community you’ll ever see. We try to go there at least once every other year for a long weekend. I grew up in Anderson (IN) and my husband in Liberty (IN). We are now south-central.

From my Mom: most jars look industrial sealed and packed with suite a bit of dust on top. Other than meats and vegetables/fruits, our Amish market employees tell me they bake nothing, they make none of those packaged candies. They make money by selling ready made items and slapping their label on. It's a great day to buy meat, cold cuts, freshly made salads and fresh fruit/ veggies and be out with the kids, but don't be fooled, it's just a business.

The ones we visit make fresh donuts and bake all their bread / pies / cookies, etc. As for the canned items or packaged candy, those are probably from manufacturers. We enjoy every time we get to shop there.

From my Mom:. I've been a crafter for over 30 years to help raise my son. Hated it when my neighbor or neighbors were buy/sell people. I worked hard sewing and making each item by hand but they made tons of money making Asian countries richer. Sore spot for me when so-called Amish or farmers markets are fakes. Not the honest, hard working folks they pretend to be.

That would be sad for sure. There are some Amish communities that are quite affluent & I'd imagine their land will stay within their families & communities.
