Back to where it all started! Since we're settling back down and getting comfortable here on the east coast, I thought it was time for another minimalist apartment tour. How much longer do you think these plates will last?

I have plates that are at my home still from my grandma's times. And some "newer" ones, that are appr. 15-20yrs old. So well, they can last almost forever. And I personally like when you can see some dents or scratches, as you remember you ate great stuff, for a long time and spend many days with your loved ones. And that's what matters and is a blessing in life:)

I actually like that it’s not too minimal. It has all of the functionality and benefits of a minimalist space, but the decor and Nat’s touches to it make it feel like an actual home, not just a cold, sterile, lifeless space.

Exactly. Minimalism is NOT owning the least amount of stuff possible. It's about owning the minimal amount of things possible; i.e. things you can't live with out, and things that have to do with your hobbies. It's about having the bare minimum.

Minimalism shouldn‘t stress you out, it‘s the opposite, in fact. If you enjoy possessing something, feel free to do so. I love that you‘re becoming more easy-going and trying to enjoy life more rather than trying to make sense of every single little detail! (:

The more I detach myself from external things the happier I become, less things to worry about. It easier to focus on our purpose when we have fewer things that take time from our lives, I attribute a lot of this to my success in life. So many things we do not need or use, so what`s the point. Lets all get rid of the things holding us back, that also includes people haha.

It’s so great seeing minimalism in action! It’s how I do my best to keep my home....no wall decor whatsoever, but the essentials (our floor sofa, bedspread, prayer stuff) are colorful and very ethnic. I found that having lots of open clean space relaxes me, and I think my kids, a lot.

I like the general vibe of the place. It's very organized and pretty. The details make it special. The sofa's design is very interesting; I don't remember ever seeing a sectional with a chaise that wide before. My wife and I bought a Bellini sofa at Manhattan Home Design and we wanted to expand it with the Bellini ottoman but I think we'll add an additional ottoman because sometimes we both want to enjoy watching TV relaxed and a single ottoman is not enough for us. Thanks for the tour!

i'm on a minimalist journey but have actually been making a lot of purchases. I have been buying things that i truly love and have a lot of thought and functionality behind it. I've been buying quality items that i've always been so hesitant to spend money on. This has saved me from buying so much cheap stuff that end up not working like the real deal. And at the same time i've been get rid of so much clothes, trash, and un-used items. Minimalism to me is about streamlining your life and for me it was very difficult to do without having core items. Heck! i bought a clothing steamer that i've been needing. Now i look better, and feel a lot more confident and life feels simpler. So i would say that was a great minimalist purchase.

Please do feel free to fill those empty walls with things that make you feel !!! Ascribe living values and love and power to things that seem unalive

It feels like a very livable space - comfortable because it isn't cluttered and you have just what you need there. I agree with the 'not everything has to be white' comment - judicious colour is a good thing. I have hardly any pictures on the walls of my place either - none in the bedroom and few elsewhere.
