Throw a couple tents in, big kids will love to have space. Big kids can also walk to the bathrooms, we try to encourage the less use of black tank. Get a fence type pen for Nessa for outside. Look on chewy or Amazon. Also, dirty dish pan outside with soapy water to soak dirty dished until you wash. If you don't have an outdoor shower, also make a soapy tub for dirty feet. And, an rv outdoor mat is really important, and a broom!

A tip from another family of 12 here, we love to park where they have a nice shower house and bathroom. It’s still tough to trade out taking showers for 12 in the RV so we will usually give the little ones their baths in the RV when we can, and everyone else goes to the shower house! Makes us so much easier..enjoy RV life!!!

Not so great for other people when families of gargantuan size are taking up all the facilities. Maybe strip washes every day would be more practical - for everyone.

@@josedalma9549 if there are 4 showers and the family takes turns using 2 then I don't see the issue. I don't see them as a family that takes over the whole bathroom and doesn't think of others.
@marieneu264
@marieneu264 2 жыл бұрын
@@josedalma9549 why would you even say that? They could be a family of four, and three more families of four could be at the same campground. Do you really have to fight for shower and bathroom time at a RV park? It’s not like a dorm where you’re all trying to shower at the same time and show up for class or work at the same time. Stop being negative. That can’t be a fun way to live.

Dad here, we are SO excited for you! RVing is definitely in our future! We were starting to proceed down that path last year when things changed. Our decision process is similar, with 8 adult-sized humans in the family, sleeping arrangements are a bit tricky, especially if you don't want to have to take two vehicles! Have fun and stay safe out there! 💕

I love your new RV. I also love your van. What model van is it .I love the fact it has lots of seating. Your family is amazing. I am glad all of your kids can swim even Seth got in little Niagra. Seth has grown so much. He is running around with the rest of the kids like he has been doing it all the time. Seth has the best disposition. He is so independent. He doesn't seem to be clingy at all. He sat in in his seat and amused himself. I don't have kids but if I did I would want my babies to be just like Seth. Keep putting out the content. I 'll be here.

Detasseling corn is removing the immature pollen-producing bodies, the tassel, from the tops of corn (maize) plants and placing them on the ground. It is a form of pollination control,[1] employed to cross-breed, or hybridize, two varieties of corn. Fields of corn that will be detasseled are planted with two varieties of corn. Every corn plant has both male and female parts,[2] so if both varieties of corn were left intact, some of the resulting seeds would have non-hybrid parents. Removing the tassels from all the plants of one variety leaves the grain that is growing on those plants to be fertilized by the tassels of the other, resulting in a hybrid. In addition to being more physically uniform, hybrid corn produces dramatically higher yields than corn produced by open pollination, as well as other desirable traits, such as disease, drought, and weather resistance. With modern seed corn the varieties to hybridize are carefully selected so that the new variety will exhibit specific traits found in both the parent plants. The detasseling process usually involves the use of both specialized machines and human labor.

You will make such incredible memories in your RV. My family has camped every summer since I can remember. We started it a tent, then a pop-up camper, to a trailer and now my parents have a beautiful 5th wheel. I remember going as a kid and it was great, Yellowstone, grande cannon, Mt. Rushmore. We went from NY (where we live) to California up to Alaska and back 3 or 4 times when I was growing up. Now my daughters are 17 and 12 and my parents have been taking them on the same trips. It’s such an amazing blessing to be able to have the time together and the experiences.

Yes, people don't realize that as you're moving down the road even a minor accident can cause your child to become a projectile right through the front windshield. Even if you are the most careful driver in the world, you aren't in control of how those around you drive. All of those toddlers should be in car seats strapped in when the vehicle is moving and all others in appropriate boosters or seatbelts!!

I wish Sara would comment on their plans. I love watching this family and really worry about how they are planning to travel with all the littles and having enough car seats/seat belts for all of them. Please no hateful comments-I would just like Sara to answer, as everyone can assume what their plans are, but until her or Solo tell us, it’s just a guess. Even if Belle and a couple of the older boys ride in a car following behind, the littles still need to be belted in somehow.

I’m 82 years old and my hubby is 90 we were campers all our married life and the thing we miss most at this age is being able to travel like we did. I never drove any of our campers, too fearful. My best advice is keep it simple. Get a list of simple meals to use and use paper plates. I’m so excited for you! Happy trails and safe journey.

When we had a trailer the kids preferred sleeping outside in a tent unless it was cold or rainy (we live in Oregon). We also had a long folding table that we set up outside for cooking since it created more counter space than our RV had. Also, there's just something about cooking outside when you're camping (even if you're using plug in appliances). :) Happy Adventuring.

We live in a 5th wheel...a couple of tips for comfort. Put the same brand and type of mattress for your King bed as what you have in your house. Makes more comfortable on your backs. Second is buy a Thousand Trails annual "camping pass" and select the regions from Nebraska down to FL where your parents live. You will pay for it with 10 overnights. Third: daily miles is about 350 miles and not much more. You want to be able to hookup to your campsite in the daylight and also drive during the day as it is better to see obstacles. Enjoy the adventure!!!

I like to suggest writing a travel journal of each trip if any problems or concerns keep them noted in you journal also you could add pics at the end of each trip in the journal. Maybe the older children could write in the journal about a trip something special a keepsake your own family book. Also keep track of your miles for each trip. Collect magnets for the ref for each place you go or travel too, others collect collect mugs, Just a thought. Enjoy yourself. Tell us how did you meet your husband ? He seems so calm and so good with the children, Was ya'll sure the boys could make it back home ok. Hugs and Blessings Sarah

We love our RV for our family. Best thing we did. We take huge vacations. We were supposed to go to Alaska last year for a month and then this year but border closed still. 😓 Here are my tips for large families. Use the shower as a pantry for "overflow" food. Use an empty mayonnaise jar and have lots of quarters and laundry pods. Most state parks have laundry. Then you can take less clothes. My FAVORITE must have are the "nacho boats" they sell at Sam's. Get both sizes. Then you don't need plates and bowls. They have a wax coating so they will hold cereal. Do not buy chips in Nebraska altitude and then head to the mountains. They will all explode. 🤣🤪 Place an empty ice cream bucket lined with a shopping bag and set in the toilet. Very easy for kids to go #2 in the bucket while sitting on the potty. Tie up and dispose asap. Trust me you only want #1 in the tank. Even with the deodorizing stuff it can still not smell the best. Plan for a double grocery budget. Kids contained on big road trips eat a lot more. Have fun!! Best memories ever. We have been to Yellowstone 5 times in last 3 years. We LOVE it.

I love the RV…it looks like the kiddos do too! 🥰 BTW…detasseling is when you remove the top part of the corn stalks…the tassel. It’s done for pollination control. So that each corn stalk cannot pollinate itself. It’s basically to cross breed two different varieties of corn to create a hybrid with benefits like drought tolerant and disease resistant.

Oh how fun! I love RVs. Always have since I was a kid! Some day I hope to get one. We've even talked about living in one while we built a cabin on some land some where. Praying that can happen for us. This rv is so awesome! And, naps are LIFE! I'm at the stage where nap time for my 5 and 3 year olds make day/evening great but bed time awful. And no nap makes day/evening grumpy and rough. But, my 9 month old is a champ 3 nap a day baby.

Every time you gets hooked up to water/sewer/electric do a load of laundry. Once all of your “stuff” is in there you will be shocked how small it gets. Bags of dirty clothes fill things up fast. Also get an outside collapsible table with a two burner stove. Cooking outside is invaluable in a RV. We’ve had one off and on for 30 years. And an additional canopy to set up outside to increase living space.

When we retired, we decided to live in an RV and see the USA. Spent 4 years gadding about from state to state doing volunteer work in exchange for a place to camp. All those years, I kept thinking about what a wonderful experience it would be for a home schooling family to take these trips. We learned so much! Obviously, the kids are going to enjoy the adventure. Best wishes for a great experience for your family!
