Hello Rho, just received my Bdd mount. My question is how solid is the top box after mounting. Does it shake at all. Don't have the box yet but I am a little concerned seeing there is some flex in these mounts.
@RidingWithRho Жыл бұрын
No shake for me. To date…no issues and haven’t had to make adjustments. But since installing I have seen concerns from others about the stability of the mounts. I do have the mounts pushed up as close as possible to the front. Idk if that makes a difference. But again, no issues for me.

Just ordered my brackets and chopped tor pack. I’m on the 22 vaquero. Mine came with the razor pad for the back rest. Good deal tho! Could you tell me what size were the bolt you used ?
@chrisharriman49893 жыл бұрын
I really like the added space (3” can make a big difference!) of the road pack. Obviously you’re not packing really heavy stuff in either trunk, but what would concern me is that the mounting brackets are only held on by two 6mm thread (10mm wrench) bolts on each side. Do you notice if either trunk sways or wiggles while riding, especially over rough / uneven roads? As always, please keep sharing your awesome videos. Ride safe Rho! 😎
@RidingWithRho3 жыл бұрын
Hey hey! Appreciate the concern. No wiggling or bouncing…rode 2200 miles with the new pack and over 10,000 with the mount so far and still it’s snug. Of course, it’s another thing I look at on those pre-ride checks 😉. Haven’t had to tighten anything. Thanks for watching!!

Nice, I've been debating on whether to ad one to my 07 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. Extra space would be nice and I noticed it when I went on a 4 day 650 mile trip from DC to the Jersey shore. I took the Cape May ferry and enjoyed the heck out of the trip.
@RidingWithRho3 жыл бұрын
Ahhh you did the ferry ride! Dope! I’m glad you enjoyed it 💪🏾

@@RidingWithRho, Yes, and it was sooooo relaxing to ride up through the farmland of the eastern shore of Maryland and Delaware to the shore in Delaware. Lots of long, flat, and smooth roads you can put on your cruise control and ride relaxed. The icing on the cake is boarding the ferry with your bike in Delaware to cross over to the Jersey shore via the Chesapeake Bay. It was 90 degrees when I crossed with the bike and to my surprise, there were 4 other bikers doing the same. We all caught the earliest ferry on the weekend at 8:30 am. It was a hot day that day, but the cool salty ocean air was relaxing and made it very comfortable. I chilled and slept a bit on a deck chair, of course after I settled down a bit. When I first got on I was worried my bike would tip over in rolling seas. Smooth sailing the whole way there except for 4 times when the ship rocked pretty well. I was worried my bike would fall over, but not even close (I watched it like a hawk for the first 20 minutes LOL!). I then went and had breakfast on the ship and a drink (no alcohol! LOL but they have a bar and it is open while they're at sea even in the morning). Anyway, If you ever ride north this way, you should consider doing it, I think you'll enjoy it, It would make good content for the channel too.
@RidingWithRho3 жыл бұрын
Awesome!! Love the descriptiveness. Haha! Made me feel like I was there. It was added to my ride list the first time you mentioned it. I’m gonna make that ride one day 💪🏾

@@RidingWithRho Yep worth it. I have two more rides I want to get done this summer. I'm planning to ride south to the outer banks of NC from the DC area where I live. The plan is to take route 17 in Fredericksburg VA to NC. It's scenic smooth and for most of it, moderate to low traffic. The other ride is to head south thru the Blue Ridge mountains to Tazewell VA I want to do the "dragon". Although I might wait for the fall to do that one when the leaves change. Safe riding out there! and post some more of those trips, they are really enjoyable to watch.

I am doing the exact same thing to mine (haven’t decided on a top box though). In the video you mention putting a metal plate in the box for extra security. Did you try to use the rack plate as the metal plate? The holes would all line up.
@RidingWithRho2 жыл бұрын
That’s wassup! I did BUT I’m a little OCD and don’t wanna scratch my plate. I’m going to put one in eventually though.

This is why we like your channel. very thorough. One question: do you think the 'plate' you have would sit in the bottom of the chopped tour pack to help strengthen it some?
@RidingWithRho3 жыл бұрын
Ha! Why thank you!! 🤗 I don’t quite understand your question. Are you asking if I’ll add the plate?
@heybruh32743 жыл бұрын
@@RidingWithRho Sorry for the confusion. I noticed at 2:45 into the video, you stated that "you could add a metal plate for added security". I was wondering, since you removed a plate to add the tour pack, that maybe that same plate would serve the purpose. I wasn't sure if it would fit though because of the plate's design. Thanks
@RidingWithRho3 жыл бұрын
Gotcha! You’re right. I could use that plate but didn’t because I don’t want to scuff it up (even though it would technically be under the liner). It’s the OCD 😂
@RanGer-4982 жыл бұрын
The plate is to help the tour pack not crack the base and give it a bit of rigidity also rubber washers help so as not to crack the plastic as well.
