As a hitter in baseball I never manually tried to hit with the trail arm. I have experimented with every golf swing idea I could find and have found for me any effort to unload the trail arm and wrist drastically slows my swing down and causes poor contact and face control problems.

I would agree with that 100%. Any effort to do that would short circuit the transfer of energy into the club from the rest of you.

@@dso1986I’m not preventing it but I’m also not trying to help it happen. I think of the wrists as a free hinge. As for grip pressure that is a difficult topic because I’m sure it’s much tighter than what I feel.

Man I can relate to the having to trust it will get in front of you. I have had my blissful moments of achieving this, but under pressure in a competition down narrow Scottish courses/ just letting things happen is tough! My biggest challenge is when I achieve this but then something means I loose my strike and letting it get out in front simply isn't working for whatever reason. That's when it gets really hard. When I have the relaxation needed to allow this to happen - I get too relaxed and roll takeaway get flat and slightly steepen on the downswing. Keeping at it though because I've felt what it is like when I achieve it!! Butter!!

After watching a ton of Malaska videos over the past couple days, this really seems contradictory to what he is teaching. With regards to keeping the club in front and not letting it get behind you. Curious how Milo and Mike’s methods are similar and different, especially with them teaching at the same course and working together. Also, the Malaska swing is feeling pretty good so far, so not looking to switch it up quite yet.

Milo, I see zero slide bump shift ,whatever you want to call it to the left. In fact the only thing that brings you to the left side is the club momentum. I tend to get on front and drag it thru thinking my speed needs that shift. Also seems nearly impossible to get over the top. Am I seeing this the correct way?

Many touring pros are not capable of both fading and drawing the ball consistently , while under pressure . It is basically a wasteful deception for less talented players to try to develop both a draw and fade . IF they can consistently draw or fade the ball , they will improve greatly

The lag/hit tee with club upside down video gave me a reproducable lightbulb moment. For me, the key to executing it is to conciously keep the right wrist bent from P6. Still not sure about arms down or not and the down&left move in transition. The right pec use to close the gap is interesting. I still struggle to see how one can generate speed or how one can increase it without using the arms, hands and a concious release, but you clearly show that it can be done. My question is: what is the source of your natural club head speed with such a swing and how can it be increased? Chest rotation speed? From P6 or earlier? How can one train/get it? Is there info in the impactforce program about this? I am talking about getting it up from the 80s into the 90s and maybe to 100, not something outrageous....

Milo, From what I understand you are a former baseball player as am I (college). I’m a bit surprised to now understand that you are a “swinger” to the point of having a Moe Norman type of hand action through impact. As Moe Norman used to say “The secret to my swing is my passive hands.” The flip side of that coin is of course a “hitter” to the point of a Ben Hogan who famously said “I wish I had 3 right hands.” I firmly believe that at first when a golfer is learning to ACCELERATE it is far better accomplished by just attempting to progress as a “swinger,” again, at first. So Milo, I’m a bit surprised that you, as an X-baseball player, has not at least incorporated some of a “hitters” hand action into your own golf swing. For example, I consider Jack Nicklaus as having a golf swing that is about 50% swinger and 50% hitter. Milo, I would most certainly like to applaud your brief description to Brendan describing how you come into impact without using your hands to propel the driver in any type of “forced casting motion,” but just let the club head naturally release out in front of you through impact, which is a classic swinger feel. There are virtually no other golf swing instructors on YT capable of understanding this, let alone describe it. As I was learning to ACCELERATE through impact, I immediately became aware of the different “vibration” I felt the shaft produce. As I became an ACCELERATING “swinger” and now more aware of “shaft flex” than ever before, I soon became that “greedy golfer” who wanted MORE. And that was the driving force that made me ultimately become a 75% “hitter” (25% swinger). The greed of wanting to “hold more shaft flex” into impact, and then of “holding that shaft flex” long after impact. Us “hitters” are a greedy lot for sure, always wanting more shaft flex to hold. See page 93 in Hogans 5-Lessons. The first full paragraph describes a “swinger” and the second (last) paragraph is where Hogan begins to reveal his hands “hitting” action. Fascinating yet simple stuff by Hogan, but very-very few actually understand what Hogan was attempting to convey. A hobby of mine is to twist arrogant know nothing “Hogan Aficionados” into pretzels….and then laugh hilariously in their face. Yea, I’ve been around since the early 1980’s (Met Section) and learned to loath those arrogant fools, of which there are MANY. I’m sure Jim McLean still remembers me laughing at him at Sleepy Hollow. McLean was an overrated fool then, and I’m sure he’s the exact same overrated fool today.

The centerpiece of the downswing is an aggressive rotation of the left hip in early transition . This results in the lead knee rotating early and weight moving towards the outside of the lead foot
@lookmil107
@lookmil107 3 ай бұрын
@@davecohn6407 …..You say: “The centerpiece of the downswing is an aggressive rotation of the left hip in early transition.” I say: “That’s utter nonsense.” One of the first things golfers say when they truly begin to enter the realm of ACCELERATION is “wow, the club head feels to move so slow from transition.” And of course the movement of the club head from transition is accomplished by the movement of the left hip, which is also “slow” from transition. I highly doubt you have ever entered the true realm of ACCELERATION.

@@MiloLinesGolf ….Is holding shaft flex a feel you experienced on full swing shots?
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 3 ай бұрын
@@lookmil107not sure. I’ve heard some prominent coaches talk about the idea but I haven’t seen evidence of anyone actually doing it. I’ve seen hundreds of Swings in 3d showing the shafts bend at every interval of the swing and have yet to see anyone actually hold shaft flex. In every case including Greg Norman and Sergio Garcia, two that are said to hold shaft flex, the shaft was already bent some amount forward at impact.

Is it just me or do the trackman numbers not add up? The last swing for instance with face/path basically matching +5. Shouldn’t that be just a straight push? Also, the swing before where he said it faded, face was -0.6 to path. How does that ball fade with path right and face slightly closed to that? Should be a slight draw? I’m confused…is D plane the difference?

@@rm00kthey are very reliable. If you can use face tape or foot spray to identify strike location. D Plane is also three dimensional, the vertical swing plane tilts the loft. Smash factor gives some clues. As does the ball flight. You can’t just think only in terms of face and path, with tight numbers you can even have slightly positive path and hit fades that start left. Dynamic lie angle plays a part. Yes they are metrics that give a big clue as to what is going on but there are other factors.
