This dude is amazeballs easy to understand. Great for newbs, great for experienced players. I think discussing release is (rightly so, IMO) mostly unnecessary as anyone who figures out how to generate real speed with the backswing and downswing will already release the club out of necessity to prevent injury.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, I am 64 years old, struggling with distance. I was doing exactly what you are talking about, left arm under the peck. The first ball I hit with my left arm over the peck, I added approximately 30 yards to my seven iron. The strike was absolutely solid. I followed up with several more balls and am thrilled. Cant wait to go to the driving range and check driver and fairway wood, and hybrid.

Huge! The number of times I've seen couches say extend your spine in the backswing (essentially standing up leaning backwards) and thought, that sounds strange. Sure they couple it with side bend so it looks reasonable but this shows it's a different move altogether. JT is brilliant and thanks for bringing him to the channel, really good.

For me and my swing, the best driver video ive seen. Especially the visual of what a bad swing looks like compared to a correct one. Key take away for me:- - the release of the lead arm scapula when lead arm shaping above pec in back swing. - keeping the mid to upper back rounded during back swing. Feels so much more natural. Awesome video😁👍

I think I did this today on the course. I just tried to really keep my lead arm off my chest with a good rotation and getting my right elbow a little higher. I piped one, effortlessly, almost 300! I am usually around 250-260. I couldn’t replicate it the rest of the day. I hadn’t seen this video until now but I think what he is describing is what I did. I will definitely have to play around with some of the concepts here.

I've been watching Bryson DeChambeau's channel and what JT calls supination/pronation, at address Bryson calls having his upper left arm internally rotated and his upper right arm externally rotated. In my humble opinion my trail side scapula moving 2 to 4 inches towards my spine starts my entire body rotating to move my club to my backswing and then from there I use the power of my three right hands to twirl my club head clockwise with centrifugal force through the ball to the finish of my swing. I think that was the sling action you may have left out in this video. At age 77 I find it feels great! Cheers🥂😊👍

Great videos man! Really appreciate the value you bring to the golf community. Hopefully you take this the right way, but if you could let your guest explain their thoughts before cutting them off, that would be awesome. You ask terrific questions and can understand you get excited, but you tend to either to talk past that initial question or once they get started, you interrupt them with another question / thought ☺️ PS. If you could cover the driver release in particular , that would be sweet. Much love man!

Great stuff from JT, loved learning about what really causes spine extension in the backswing. Never really bought the S&T demonstration of spin extension and perhaps why the S&T coached player I know seems to leave so much speed on the table. Actually very surprised nothing was mentioned on GRF or the legs. JT did touch on the right leg but insufficient imo - I hear some say load the R leg and others say turn into the R leg.

Watched this last night and applied it today at the range....WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE THIS MADE!!!! I normally hit 300-320, depending on how much of a roll I get. But adding the spine extension, keeping my arm above my chest rather than on or below it, keeping the curvature in my back and lowering the tee made a HUGE difference. I feel much more in control and I felt a huge difference in the torque when I whip the ball. I didn't measure it but I know....I just know that I up'd my swing speed. The ball is going straighter than what I've been getting with my swing. This technique improved my distance, torque, speed and aim immensely. I'm going back out tomorrow just to make sure that today wasn't a fluke. I'll keep you posted...THANK YOU, THANK YOU AND THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

I am a 63 years old that is fighting for more distance. Two years ago I was at 200 yards total with my driver. I am up to around 240 yards now. I am not very flexible at all. I always feel bound up and struggle to get more speed. I can hit balls at my house. After seeing this lesson with Micah, I hit my 3 hybrid, and I could not believe what I felt for speed. I swear it would go father than my normal 3 wood (I really can't tell as I am hitting into a woods). They were smoked down the middle and steaight. Then I hit my 50 degree wedge. Same thing. I can't remember the last time I felt compression like that. I hit them as far as my normal pitching wedge. Again, I could not believe the speed. I usually hit too deep of a divot and fat. This divot was thin with ball first contact. I hit 4 balls and they were all in a 7 foot circle. So excited to try this again. I only had a few minutes last night. Thanks for this posting video

This all makes so much sense. The problem i run into is that i play righty, but im naturally left handed. So my left hand wants to dominate my swing, and trying to have a swing thought of a throwing motion feels alien to me with my right arm. Distance isnt a problem for me, i can regularly drive it 300+. Its keeping it straight thats the problem, i feel like im cutting across the ball and i know my swing path is very heavy out to in. Probably 5-7 degrees on bad days. That left arm dominates.

The moment you change your tempo due to added power from exercise, you have to relearn a new swing. Which is fine to do, but you need to work on structuring something that works first with your 14 clubs. When that system works, you can add power, which will change the tempo.
