It’s like getting a history lesson from an espresso machine. My favorite tour video yet.

Exactly! He speaks the way dear Karl Lagerfeld did with the speed and "eha?" at the end of sentences and I loved ever minute! What a wealth of information ... How long can he speak like that?! Machine-gun Kelly! Just a completely unnecessary observation ... His knowledge was absolutely awesome and inspiring. Philip must have been dying! I wish there had been time at the end to observe Stephanie and Philip's reactions. How lucky that engraving was found that showed them where things used to be. He and we would have been lost without it! And a BIG "Thank You!" to Stephanie for the subtitles! ❤

Wow. All I can say is wow. I must say that all of a sudden through his talking through the castle I have realised what my own Manoir; constructed in the 13th/14th Century was all about! The kitchens running along the ground floor; the arrow slits; lower courtyard - the bakery; chapel - even to the grande salle of the 18th century and the configuration of the top larger rooms for courtiers. I understand at last completely my previous place in France. Thankyou so much Stephanie. x

This was an amazing tour and history lesson! Thank you! The Duke and Duchess of Burgundy were such important patrons of the arts. My jaw dropped to see the preserved wall painting with their mongrams (outstanding!) and to see another example of Claus Sluter--who made the most moving "weeping" or "pleurants" for the base of Philip and Margaret's tomb (if you've never seen them--they are spectacular).

Such grand palace, Chateau de Germolles! Thank you, Stephanie, for sharing this honor you have had touring this lovely home, and meeting with MATTHEW who certainly knowns his history well and explains it all so well! Just to think how many powerful Dukes have had the opportunity to own this Palace, and although not always easy and especially when you must lose your life fighting for your country, No matter even if you must fight your rights with the leader. Yet this duke could keep a great honor for so many years into the future, for doing the best they could for what they believed in . This was so exciting to be able to get to see the palace and learn so much of its history and to see how it all began for the families who lived and are living this lovely time in history even now! We are all part of it all in some way. We must play our parts where we are!

Hello from Nashville, Tennessee! It's a much chateau but Stephanie, you were right! I had a very hard time understanding him. I got some of what he said but not all. Everywhere you have shown me on your new channel has been wonderful! The rich history and such interesting people who know the history of their home. It's all amazing to me. Here in Nashville, they tear everything down and build a highrise building. We have very little history to see. We must go to the State Historical Office to see any pictures of how things here decades ago. I am so happy to know not every country just tears its history down. Thank you for another informational video!
