The layout of the house is very odd and small master bedroom and small living area. I bought in Gosammer Grove community for less than half of this price and the house is massive. Down side is in my community property tax is double.

Yeah, I hear you when it comes to other new construction homes. I'm reserving new homes for clients left and right with lennar, dr horton, etc.. The reason for the pricing on this home is because of the neighborhood it is in, which matters to some that really want to be in the neighborhood.

Yep, people pay for location. But you really cant find any home over 2760 sqft under $400k anywhere in Bakersfield that is moderately nice.
