Very cool design aesthetic. Living within nature is a dream for many. Not sure how sustainable this "clean" nature living is when you include a wood burning stove though. You'll have to chop all those trees down that surround your new home to fuel you're life 😅

This looks like a nightmare to heat. No mention of the home's orientation to take advantage of passive solar heat with those windows - any idea if that was taken into account?

Those wood burning stoves (that you see in the corner of the house) put out a lot more heat then you can imagine. My aunt and uncle have a cabin in Wisconsin (about half the size of this one) with one of those wood burning stoves. That place turns into a sauna when they get it going, even in the middle of a Wisconsin winter.

@@84tand I means a nightmare for my wallet. 30ft ceilings means you're going be heating primarily unused space, which I guess is a flex since money is not a concern here. Just seems incredibly wasteful, but then again, so is living in NY in the first place, which is why I left almost a decade ago.

A few theories. 1, this is a model home, so a client could theoretically orient their house in a way that makes since to them. 2, these are out in the countryside but still on the grid, so it’s likely they are powered by electric or gas. 3, these are vacation homes for people in this price point, so they probably won’t spend much time there during the winter months.

Am I the only one who hates this thing? Location and concept are fine. Architecture is mostly okay, maybe just some minor gripes. Interior design and landscaping are not only trite and boring, but look amateurish and poorly executed as well. Mainly lacking the big ass garage/barn that you need on a property like this to keep it maintained. Having acreage is a full time job in itself.

This is NOT a high end house, lol. Not even close! C’mon, entry door is not custom hight to align with the window line and has ugly transom above. Cheap rectangular fire place in the corner, what does it “anchors in this location”? Backsplash is not stone, it’s vertically installed subway tile with ugly polished black outlet. I don’t see outlets at the island. If you want to see high end, look for Bocci outlets. Bosch is not a high end appliance brand. It’s good, but it’s not Miele, Sub-Zero or Gaggenau. Bathroom switches have plates with screws. Wow! This tells you a lot how cheap is a developer. Top of the line bathroom fixtures? I don’t see Dornbracht or Waterworks there, more like off the shelf home depot fixtures, just a bit better than typical chrome fixtures. Roller shades are exposed and don’t have shade boxes and flaps. Crazy! Don’t get me wrong. It’s obviously better than your average contractor built, but it’s still contractor grade level for me. I’m surprised you think this is a high end.
