While I appreciate the host's enthusiasm, she needs to let the person she's interviewing complete their sentences before she jumps in to talk over them. The constant interruptions made their whole interview sound choppy and chaotic. The host needs to stop centering her reactions and allow the conversation to flow. Ask your questions and let the person you're interviewing respond. That give and take makes the interaction entertaining for your viewers. This exchange was just irritating.

Obviously she's incredibly nervous, and is way over animated in her reactions to fill the empty sound space, which she can't even allow to happen. She's young, she'll get better at it. I notice she calms down a bit more towards the end.

People also don’t realise when you live in a small inner city space like that, you actually spend a lot of time outside enjoying life & the amenities of the city actually become extensions of your home. I lived in an equally small space in Sydney Australia & the coffee shop downstairs was my chill zone, Hyde Park was my backyard & a short bus drive to Bondi was my swimming pool. Best socialized years of my life actually.

It's one thing to do that because you want to, but the question is are you doing it because you have to? I loved going to the park or jogging trail, had a favorite coffeeshop, attended plays and poetry jams, went to concerts, conventions and movies, and exploring thrift stores and secondhand shops. And I did all this while living in Indianapolis, Indiana, and living in a 1-bedroom flat with far more space and paying less money. I'm happy she's happy. But other cities have great amenities and offer a vibrant social life without the cramped quarters and absurd price tag. I want everyone to be happy with where they live, but let's not act like that's the only place to create the life you want.
@HoofHearted2DAY
@HoofHearted2DAY 2 жыл бұрын
@@candacen7779 it’s a choice to live that lifestyle & it paid service to a period of my life when it was good. I left that life because I wanted a shift for more space & the ability to buy my own home, so I moved cities and moved states to do so nearly a decade ago. Millennials here in Australia have this righteousness that they deserve to live in Sydney & be able to buy a home that isn’t within their means - sorry but life doesn’t work that way. If you live in the centre of a major capital city then your choices & freedoms will be slim pickings. I you want more space and to be “happy” then YOU need to make the choice to move. I’m merely commenting on a video with a premise that’s all about micro-living for the sake of being able to live in a central metropolis. She’s happy, I’m happy for her but people in comments here are quite vocal about her choice like it is theirs. Cool, we’ll don’t live there.

I think what some people fail to understand that is for her, living where she wants to be, near the people she loves, and the experiences and work opportunities that she has in NYC is a trade off she is willing to make. And from looking at all the effort she's put into her space she seems happy with that trade off. What works for one person might not work for another. Or indeed, what works for her now might not work for her 5 years from now. But she's making the best of what she has now so she can have the future she wants and that's the truly important thing to remember.

@mircat28
@mircat28 2 жыл бұрын
"All your stuff" ceases to be an important phrase. You never get to have ALL of your stuff in a tiny space. You narrow it down to essentials only and maybe 3 or 4 nostalgia or decorative things. After that, you have reached maximum saturation and rotation is essential. 1 new thing coming in means 1 old thing goes out.

I wanted to know how many units were in her building and she was not allowed to answer that. She is very interesting, but I guess whoever was interviewing her did not want to hear what she had to say. What I don’t understand is why you cannot just do a regular interview and edit out any parts you don’t like? Her story is excellent and so interesting. Looks like she's stocked on paper towels and stuff. Same here; I have mine above the fridge, like she has hers above the cabinets, but I think I'm gonna get a wicker basket to store them in, to make things more aesthetic. She hit the nail on the head about small spaces getting cluttered really quickly. Same thing goes when you don't have enough storage/furniture, so you don't have a proper place to store all your things, so it's just out in the open "all over the place". It's fascinating how there's adults in cities with excellent transport, who don't drive. Correction: CHICAGO is the best city in the world. 😅😅

I couldn't tell... but was there a bathroom (right inside the entryway)? I know some of the tiny apartments in NY have shared bathrooms on each floor. I'm all for living tiny...especially in a city you really want to be in. I moved to Seattle 5 years ago and downsized and got rid of my car. I'd live in a shoebox to be in somewhere like London or Oslo... so much to get out and do (pandemic lockdowns notwithstanding).
