No pillows! NOOOO!!!!! I must have my down alternative pillow! At least now you can leave your pillows in the van and won't have to suffer another night without. It is so beautiful there! I hope to one day get to visit that part of the world. We would have to rent a camper van once we got there. We hope to retire in the next 5 to 8 yrs. and will begin our travels. Somewhere in my family tree, there is someone from Wales and I'm hoping I can find out where exactly (and who) so I can visit where a part of me came from. Remember the days when we had to follow maps to get where we were going? It doesn't seem all that long ago! I'm glad that Tom Tom gave you this wonderful device! I'm enjoying your videos! Of course your Christmas dinner in the van all snowed in is my favorite! Peace!

Brilliant! When I saw Barmouth Railway Bridge, my heart leapt. In 1959, when I was 5 years old, my Mom, Dad, Brother and I got off the train at Talybont Halt and stayed in a caravan for a week by the sea. Every year since I have visited the Barmouth area. I am so delighted you decided to visit the area. Thank you JOhnR

Ha! Pillows...done that myself. My husband is a pillow-hog (he likes two big ones) so when we opened the bedding cupboard & there were only two small ones, he looked at me like I'd done it on purpose. My latest van-packing failure was just 3wks ago...I spent a good hour re-packing the first-aid box making sure it was it was all up to scratch & wot-not only to forget it. Got home & there it was tidied away in the bathroom cabinet whence it came.

Your videos are well-constructed and you have a nice balance of discussion and scenic stuff. I also like your choice of music which, combined with your lovely camera-work, is atmospheric, poignantly beautiful at times, and really enhances the landscapes you explore. Top grub too ;-). I mention that because some van-lifers seem to have awful diets and aren't exactly an advert for the healthy, vital outdoor life. Keep 'em coming!

Nice Video as always. Gwynant camp site looked horrendous though. You must have been desperate for Pizza and a Shower to stay on a busy camp site when you could have wild camped not too far away. That's the downside of Tom-Toms. They don't do tracks and forest breaks so I'll stick with OS and Google Earth thanks!
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
It was busy, was great weather forecast for the weekend and start of the summer holidays so not surprising. Haha the pizza was a big incentive and needed to find a shower but the main reason was the ability to park our van somewhere safe so we could head out onto the lake on our kayak, it’s always unnerving leaving the van unattended when we are on the kayak as we can’t carry our expensive filming kit on a boat.

What drone to use please,and what are your thoughts on it.I would like to get one but don’t really know where to start looking.Thank you.

We have a DJI Spark which is great as it is light weight, but it loses connection very easily, we can’t fly it from inside the van. We also have a phantom 4 pro which we can not fault but too big for hiking 😊

Hi Ellie and Scott Great vid again, the tom Tom looks really good a bit on the expensive side over £200 fingers crossed it will come down after awhile. And really pleased your getting some support, I don’t think it will change you. Have give the cooker I bought from you when I met you in Rhos on sea a few weeks ago the wife was really pleased with it 🙂

Hey Les, how did it go in the garage? Is a lot of money, is closer to £400! If you can afford it the features are pretty cool, was definitely one of the incentives for us collaborating with them to be able to get one for ourselves 🤗

hi there are you allowed to stay in that carpark cos it looks amazing thanks stu and marina
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
You won’t believe it but the National Trust turned up the morning after we stayed and erected a no overnight parking sign at the entrance. They said it was because lots of larger motor homes were getting stuck on the narrow roads approaching the car park 🤦🏻♀️

We have never been to Wales but it looked lovely in the sunshine. Nice filming once again but you always make us hungry in this house when we watch you. Your food always looks delicious :D Teddy Ps what was it you were promoting ?? I don't think I heard you mention anything other than a male cat LOL ;D nice vid and good bit of promo

Oh you must get to Wales, it is 100% our favourite part of the U.K., particularly the North for us but we are happy when ever we are in Wales. One day we will call it our forever home I am sure 🤗

My humans have visited it on holiday since 1994! and I have been going since I was created in 2001 :D We stick to the non tourist parts and love the fact we hardley ever see another soul while out walking:D We only have 4wks holiday a year and 3 are spent in Scotland the other we have a staycation here in North Yorkshire where we also love to walk. So maybe someday when we have more time we will visit Your Wales because you make it look so lovely :DTeddy

Just what I need , google maps is a nightmare as you can only take the fast route everywhere, put me on a 3 ton bridge in the Brecons last week 😱nightmare reverse . Like an update when you have used it more . You said it Scott “ integrity is the key and you both seem to have bundles of it So yer REVUE away . ATB
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
Oh crikey that must have been scary. On the way to Barmouth we couldn’t understand why it didn’t take us over the toll bridge until we saw a sign stating it was 1.5ton limit 😳 we would have gone to the bridge 😅 We wanted to be 100% open on this film but know that it will upset some of our viewers. We have had much more chance to use the TomTom now and we are really appreciating it. It takes time to learn how to use a new gadget and initially that was frustrating but as with everything it’s easy once you know how 😊

Explorer Buddies 👍 the white knuckle rides are getting a bit much in the ( XXLB crafter its a big bugger) kind of fun after ! not at the time . Tom toms in the running. Thanks

No longer use my TomTom bought fairly recently. A road was re-routed and many junctions changed near us (an A road) one year on TomTom have not managed to update the maps. Three map updates later and it is still wrong. If you follow TomTom instructions you will end up down a narrow lane with no possibility of turning around as the road is blocked before the first possible spot to turn. Open Street Maps updated within a few weeks.
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
That sounds really frustrating! Maybe try sending an email to them and see if they can send out an update?

Hi just come across your channel and would like to say how much I enjoyed them I've spent quite a lot of time in North and South Wales and could quite easily move the given an opportunity. Heading to North Wales this weekend with my girlfriend just wondered if you could tell me the name of the mountain lake where Scott is cooking would love to take her there and also where are you sitting with a mountain range in the background please
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
Hey, we would love to move to Wales some day as well 😊 The lake at the beginning is a national trust place, we filmed the sign at the beginning, that has the name of the location. The other place is the Ogwen Valley.

Looks like a great product. I shall be checking it out and begging the wife. lol Your 1st stop, which route did you take? I ask because one option is very difficult. Great vlog.

Thank you for your kind words 😊 we came in down the long and narrow road, not a problem in Florence she’s no wider than most cars and we aren’t scared of putting her in a hedge to let someone pass by. 😊

How the hell did you find Cregennan lake in the dark, its hard enough for somebody who knows in the light? (very narrow lanes)

Great vid as always and loads of great scenery and pics. New Tomtom looks great and may need to check that out. After watching loads of your vids, just wondered if your GoPro is on the dash or on the outside of the van whilst driving?? Keep up the good work guys 😃👍🏼
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
Hey Vinnie, thanks for your kind words. We do put the GoPro on the bonnet for some of the more scenic road shots 😊

Explorer Buddies cheers for the reply 😃. Can i ask what GoPro mount you use? Take it you switch it on before pulling away or does yours have a remote control?

I’m not actually sure what it’s called? If you send me an email via our website I can send you a picture? We do have a remote but we rarely use it, like you say just switch it on and drive 😊

Wow....Gwynant was busy!! Its really depressing watching your vids....why? Because I know this area like the back of my hands, yet I never fire the bus up and go!! I aways I find excuses!! Your giving me the push I need......good chance I will be full timing by the end of the year anyway!! And my opinion.....if someone wants you to test their products, go for it. I have no doubt you wont take anything that is not appropriate to your channel. Pat on the back to Tom Tom......good idea.

Another lovely video. Glad you got your pillows, now leave those in the van! :). What a lovely campsite you found right by the lake, hope you got out on the kayak. We use OsmAnd app on our phone. Its great for hiking too, shows all the trails on the hills and points of interest too. Must not be too complicated coz I can work it!! Ha ha :)
@ExplorerBuddies6 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🤗 Yes that is what we are going to do now, one less thing to pack. Should have got pillows earlier but always looking to save a few bob 😅 We always used an app on the phone before we got the TomTom but it is nice to have freed up the phone for its intended purpose and we are appreciating the features of the dedicated satnav more and more as we use it 😊
@gallowaygetaways53266 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree with what you say and its nice to have your phone free for it's intended use. Glad to hear you found the TomTom useful and it seems to be growing in favour with you. We have a built in satnav in the car but we don't like it...trust OsmAnd any day!
