Building expensive mansions for governors in Abuja is a waste of land and money knowing that those governors will visit rarely and those buildings will need maintenance. The better option would have been to build a five star governor's hotel open for commercial purposes and also hosting governors for free in their suits anytime they come around.

The importance of having a Governor's lodge is to reduce cost of paying heavy hotel bills for the governor and his entourages. Apart from that senior government officials who came to Abuja for official engagements and meetings also stay in those lodges. Stop making excuses for Peter Obi for denying Anambra state of the opportunity, the people who brought the idea are not foolish. Similarly all states used to have in Lagos before the Capital was moved to Abuja. Anambra state governor and its officials pays huge amount of money on hotel bills now.
