Haha for anyone wondering yes we toured venues before getting engaged! We had obviously talked about it and wanted to get ahead on planning the wedding bc things can get majorly overbooked (like venues!) Dakota was the one who decided to propose in California during our trip out there to tour venues…that’s how it was kept a secret bc I thought we were going just to see the venue with Bailey and hang out in Cali! Once we changed and got to the boats I figured out pretty quickly what was going on lol!

I love the Redwood venue! Husband and I were living in Dallas at the time we got engaged, but all of our family was in Florida. We wanted people to easily get to our wedding and since almost everyone was in Florida we decided to pick a venue in Florida on the water (it was called the Rusty Pelican in Tampa). During the wedding planning, we moved to the Seattle area and I started to get sad thinking about how Washington (or the Pacific Northwest in general) was where I would have loved to have my wedding if it wasn't so far for everyone. It just felt so much more 'us'. The tall pine trees, beautiful mountains, etc. This is exactly what I would have went for. It worked out for us and we do love the venue we picked in Florida, but would have also loved getting married in an area that felt more authentic to us. It's your special day so do what makes you happy! Whoever can make it will make it :)

My hubby and I were together 9 years prior to getting married and we looked at our dream venue before getting engaged too! We just obviously knew it was happening and it too was out of our home state so we figured we’d check it out on our trip. We were engaged that trip as well and ended up having our wedding at that venue! It was everything I’d dreamed!

Wadley Farms is absolutely beautiful, Julianne Donaldson, a Utah author who wrote the books Edenbrooke and Blackmore held a regency ball there last September. I got to attend and I thought it was a charming little place. It’s definitely a unique venue and it reminds me of something out of a story book. It’s so cool that you’re getting married Brooklyn! I mean, to each their own, I have no real opinion on it its not my life, but typically when people tend to get married "fast" (everyone has different definitions of whats fast or not) and in a "hurry"/young, that typically is because they ARE waiting for marriage thats PARTIALLY why they are wanting to get married soon because they want to stop waiting etc (obvisouly and HOPEFULLY not the only reason but a decent sized one). So I doubt they are lying about waiting. You see it happen in all types of situations, like in the military a lot of times you cant live off base/have other perks till you are married which is why you see a lot of 18 yr olds fresh out of bootcamp getting married real fast to people they met pretty recently, when people religiously or otherwise are waiting to be intimate till marriage they tend to get married faster, when people are not allowed to live with their partner or move out of their parents home till they are married they tend to get married faster than they typically would if that were not the case. When there is som boundary or limit or requirment in the way of someone pursuing what they want or moving onto the next step etc, they tend to do that thing (like marriage)/fufill that requirment to proceed with what they want
