Yes beautiful isn't it, shame I didn't get to go inside. It was very impressive, the park and lake next to it were great as well

CEMPEDAK is not exactly Jackfruit which is in Malay called as NANGKA. However both from the same family of fruit Moracea in Latin. The outer shape NANGKA is longer oval compared to CEMPEDAK more rounded. NANGKA is more rubbery compared to CEMPEDAK gooey. We don’t do fried NANGKA as fried CEMPEDAK. And cempedak madu (Honey Cempedak) is a type of Cempedak with more expensive price. Another type of jackfruit is called TARAP which only grow in Borneo especially Sabah.

Thank you for the explanation, yeah was a stronger taste than jackfruit. Not tasted anything like it before, I love trying all the fruits we don't get in Europe

Cempedak madu - the breed of the cempedak (super sweet), not that they put honey in it. First time I've seen Shah Alam Malays cant communicate in English that are not sek mandi lanjey.

if you save those cempedak seeds, you can boil them and eat the inside of it. It tastes a bit like a nut, with a texture of dry mash potato.
@cworldwanderer7 ай бұрын
No way, that sounds interesting. When the fruit is young is it like jackfruit, soft and edible seeds?
@nevillelongbottom1067 ай бұрын
@@cworldwanderer I don't understand what you're asking. But I was referring to the seeds from the cempedak you just ate. You can keep those and boil them to eat it if you want. Cempedak is usually eaten only when its ripe. Young unripen jackfruit can be cooked to make a vegan meat replacement thing.
@cworldwanderer7 ай бұрын
Yeah sorry that's what I was asking, if you can use unripened Cempedak the same as jackfruit
@nevillelongbottom1067 ай бұрын
@@cworldwanderer you probably could. But I've never seen anyone eat them when they're not ripe.
