I think with fewer tourists it's even more worth it being here. I do feel for the people who relied on the tourists, but Bangkok has still so much to offer to whoever comes here, as long as they want to do more than getting drunk. I'm staying an extra month as I've not even scraped the surface of what the city has to offer (temples, museums, markets, the Old City, local neighbourhoods). The problem is that I might fall in love with Bangkok even more and not want to leave 😅

I have lived in Thailand for eleven years, and you definitely go through a honeymoon period in which you are madly in love with Thailand, then, what was outside and fundamentally different from your daily life becomes your normal every day life. If someone has the opportunity to travel to Bangkok or Thailand in general I’d say go for it. You will have the chance to enjoy Bangkok without the usual crowd. The only hard part of travelling these days ironically is when you are preparing in your home country (pcr, bookings, etc) and not the actual travel itself. Once you get all the preparations done I’d say you have completed 99% of the hassle. It may sound impossible but do whatever it takes not to catch covid until you reach Thailand. There’s no greater feeling than to step out of your SHA+ hotel on your 2nd day in Thailand with your negative pcr result. The only disappointing part of my trip is when it was time to go to the airport and go home.

Every body talks about the paperwork coming to Thailand . I found the paperwork easy and not difficult. Try applying for a visa for a Thai person to go to UK on a 3 month stay. Just the application is 11 pages with a lot of stupid unnecessary questions and Much more expensive than Thai pass application. My opinion no one should say getting to Thailand now is difficult. Even the restart of the test and go is well explained and well organized. When I arrived here in December. The organization at airport to hotel with PCR test was well organized and with precision carried through. I can only praise the Thai organization for tourists comeback.

Oh...how tourism has changed...I recall maybe 15 years ago...I was on a cycling trip around Asia and was sitting near an exquisite ancient temple in Cambodia. The stillness and wonder was interrupted by 4 charming backpackers who turned up took goodness knows how many photographs of the temple in perhaps 3 minutes flat then all turned their back on the monument and spent then next ten minutes comparing photographs of the thing that sat behind them. Ohh...thats great send it to me etc etc.....Imagine this boat trip...how many hours of footage and photographs were taken one wonders...and how better spent that time would have been simply absorbing the experience rather than needing to take it with them...or shw others that they were there....I have not a single photograph of the year long cycle trip I was on...Is my life less rich because of it....absolutely not...for those images and feelings...I hold in my heart...not on a little screen.

It's a great time to enjoy many aspects of Thailand if you can get out there. That really depends on individual circumstances. For a short term holiday maker who hasn't recently recovered from COVID the risks of being quarentined are probably too great right now. But if you can hold on a month or two, indications are that it will get better.

Probably not worth it for the visitors testing positive upon arrival or who just happened to sit near someone on the flight in who tested positive, and find themselves in a miserable "hospitel" at their own expensive (insurance won't cover it) for much of their visit. Paperwork is just paperwork, but you can be a victim of events beyond your control.

Good advice from Forest… As an oldie ( not young like the ones interviewed) go through the hoops ( paper work) with a positive attitude that things will work out. Came here for this comment. I was likewise shocked by this 100% maskless bunch in close quarters while in the midst of a 4th wave of infections, with Bangkok at the top of the list. 100% of the Thais around me mask up in consideration of others. The lack of masks and the libertarian speech near the end makes your group of vloggers look and sound like an entitled bunch of inconsiderate foreigners. We don’t really want to attract that type of tourist here. Please mask up and tone it down, at least out of consideration for your hosts-and Thai law which still requires masks in public. As a Victorian Gothic, I was confused. Why every time I go to the beach most people always look at me with a strange look? I always wear long black dresses even to the beach, is that wrong? I don't like just wearing a bikini or a swimsuit. Some people ask me "Why are you wearing a long black dress to the beach?" This question is ridiculous to me. Honestly, I like Thai beaches because they are nice and the food there is a lot of good. Overall I like Thailand, but please don't tell me to wear a bikini or swimsuit when I'm at the beach. Thailand 9.0/10 for me.

It is totally worth completing all the paperwork to enter Thailand as I just over there for one month (13 Dec - 10 Jan). I came over to see my fiancé which I have not seen in two year and I had a blast traveling throughout Thailand ( Issan (Khon Kaen and Buriram), Prachuap, Ayuttaya, Chonburi and Bangkok). I used the Test n' Go scheme and organising my trip was very simple, had the Thailand Pass within 5 hour once I submitted the necessary paperwork. If I did not have to return back home to go back to work, I would still be there enjoying the Thai life.

This is where Paddy let's himself down. Alot of his videos come across as infomercials for the destination he is visiting, a bit of 'don't you wish you were here' type vibe. Most of it manipulated. There is no need to do this. The most succesful youtubers just film, find content, without the need to do that 'DONT YOU WISH YOU WERE HERE' type vibe to each video. There's alot of nonsense in this video about talking about how 'easy it is' to get into Thailand.

Hi Paddy, i really like your videos. They are very entertaining, funny and beautiful (because of the landscapes) :P. Me and my girlfriend want to try out some kind of part-time digital nomad life-style this winter, as i am a software developer with at a flexible company and she is self employed. We are thinking about staying 2 months in Thailand starting at November/December 2022 to flee the german winters (everything is just grey for months). It should be in blocks of 1-2-3 weeks in different places around thailand. There should be nice weather, beaches and some bars and a mixture of locals and expats. We would spend around 200€-500€ per month for accomodation so that we can live and work there with our laptops in a convenient way. I have already been to the main tourists spots like Ko Chang, Koh Samui islands, Khao Lak, Koh Lanta but i dont mind to visit them again as i only spent several days at each spot until now. As you have seen all the places in the south already, which places would you (or people in the comments) recommend for beginners of a digital nomad life in thailand? Any recommendations? Thank you and keep up the good work.
