Since when has Christmas been a holiday in Thailand?
@rdewsbury7772 күн бұрын
Have to disagree that Thailand does Christmas better than the West. Christmas is northern European cities is magical. Oxford Street in London, Christmas markets in Berlin, Vienna, Zurich etc etc. Even provincial cities in the UK spend a lot of money on lights and decorations. In Bangkok it's primarily shopping malls that do the decorations with little understanding of the history or significance of Christmas.
@timnewtontoday2 күн бұрын
Sure it’s just the shopping malls. But WOW! The Thais really have no idea what Christmas is all about. Then again, most westerners are equally confused.

Christmas lights in Eastern German cities rock. The holiday markets in Hamburg are on steroids

I agree! As an American. I’ve seen the Chris Kringle market in Nuremberg, Germany 🇩🇪 Berlin, Germany, and of course in various major cities in America. Christmas in Europe is magical my friend. And that’s no exaggeration. No offense to the Thais of course.

@@timnewtontodayrubbish! You’ve lived abroad for far too long Tim. lol 😂go touch some grass in the west.

@@timnewtontodayEven atheists like myself aren't "confused" about what Xmas is about and I doubt if others in "the west" are confused. The intelligent ones just think it's silly.

A service charge equivalent to AUD 4400 a month paid to hotel employees is extortionate. That's almost as much as they would be paid in Australia.
@grahamjones6300Күн бұрын
In Australia they are trying to ban Christmas and are pushing the politically correct line that it actually "Happy Holidays". I think doing that is outrageous.

Aye, and a fake fir tree in Big C. No chimneys on my humble hovel, however. Bah Humbug all the way, and no regrets, as I get useful New Year's presents. Christmas is coming. The Gooser is getting fat. Please put a cool million in the narcissist's hat.

The “normal” kratongs run around 50-60 baht baht in Isaan. I’ve never seen a 20 baht Kratong. I am glad Temu isn’t selling them on line ( joke)

Half the Traffic problems are the failure to coordinate the traffic signals at intersections, most major cities use automated computer programs, not Bkk, police boxes with individuals poshing buttons

I arrived in Bangkok a few weeks after Khun Thaksin became PM. One of his first promises was that he would solve all the traffic problems in Bangkok within 6 months. That was 20+ years ago

The English translation was removed yesterday from "The Empress of Ayodhaya", so yes, it goes really well when the foreigners start complaining Tim.

why did they not use Animatronics Special Effects film workshop instead of using a real cat just upsetting and distressing to hear. There are outstanding artist out there for a very long time now that do this and if it's no 1 on Netflix like you say surely they had the budget. Infact Netflix should be checking about animal welfare

Phuket needs an elevated rail or monorail system to circle the coastline to reduce traffic and serve as a major tourist attraction. It could be built along the hillsides and along roadways.
@timnewtontoday2 күн бұрын
Impossible. And impractical. Sorry, even the current plans to build a light rail or reasonably flat terrain have proved unlikely to go ahead.

Sounds like Lyle Lanley and the Springfield monorail

Billions of dollars US, can be a touch lower since labor is less there. How many monorails are actually in US or even the world? Wait awhile, I hear person carrying drones are being built and tried! One day we might be slated to live like the Jetsons, yes, we’ve started. Pack snacks-it’s going to be a long journey🤣. I don’t begrudge paying locals to get me where I need to be-water OR land, I prefer it! 🙏🏻🧐😎

Will the Queen of THAILAND be celebrating in Germany during that holiday? As for Xmas in Thailand, they never let a good chance to make money pass them by. I try to avoid shopping centres and the endless repetition of the Xmas tunes on constant replay.

10:48 ... protect the enviroment 😂 ... if this is in their interest, then they shouldn't reactivate a very huge 350 megawatt coal powerplant in Lampang. New world record in CO2 emisions: 37 billion tons per year.

Something about those Chinese tourists being "redirected" seems not right?... Could have bern a clever story if stopped?... The idea that kidnapped people would make good call center workers seems like a stretch?...
