Danilo picked some really cool alternative spots, like: - Parque Trianon, with its patches of native forest, instead of the massive Parque Ibirapuera, which is amazing, but you’d need the whole day to take it all in. - Instead of the famous Catedral da Sé, Igreja Nossa Senhora do Brasil, which is a gem that many one-day tourists miss. - Instead of the iconic Mercado Municipal, another landmark in its own right, Mercado Pinheiros, that is a more relaxed spot without all the touristy buzz, perfect for chilling and enjoying a nice meal. - A football stadium of a major team instead of Museu do Futebol

I’m from São Paulo and my tips would have been a little different… but overall, you guys had a nice experience. For those who might be reading this comment and also have only 14 hours here, I recommend: Padaria Bela Paulista (for pão de queijo, brigadeiros, and many others), then, a WALK trough Paulista Avenue, MASP, casa das rosas and SESC rooftop. After that, you can get the subway to the Japanese neighborhood called Liberdade to have lunch and appreciate the Japanese influence in the city. Then, I would get a cab/uber to Ibirapuera Park, rent a bike and visit the park and surrounding (like the “Monumento às Bandeiras” and the obelisk). Then, go to Beco do Batman and visit Vila Madalena neighborhood. Finally, you should try the pizza at Braz Pizzaria in Pinheiros.

I know that a lot of times when people are visiting a city, they want to go to the tourist spots and eat typical food or Churrasco but São Paulo is such a cosmopolitan metropolis, people end up missing out on that. So you can eat some great food from all over the world, from the Middle East to Japanese, from Italian to Korean, etc. So I would definitely recommend a food tour. São Paulo also has some nice parks and green pockets, lots of artistic and cultural stuff as well, I think it's nice to get to know a bit of it - like SESC Paulista, there are other SESC and also other Cultural Centers with different expos. The part that Danilo talked about being able to grab a burger at 3am is true and I think that the nightlife in São Paulo is worth exploring. It's funny because as someone born and raised here, when you visit other big cities around the world you end up finding it odd that most big cities are not 24/7 like São Paulo is. In some regions, you can wander around the streets, bars and restaurants from dusk to dawn on foot because there are a lot of people doing the same - Uber drivers are also out there 24/7. So these would be my recommendations, don't focus solely on "Brazilian Culture", explore everything São Paulo can offer, mix and match food and culture, art, leisure, nightlife, a bit of everything.

Nice video! São Paulo city is really underestimated by tourists. It's a great place to visit. Next time, I suggest spending a few more days and take a little time to visit the coast of the state of São Paulo. If it's not the rainy season, you'll find out a little paradise. Danilo was fantastic, by the way.

Nice video! And what a great guide you’ve got here! São Paulo is not a very touristic city, to truly appreciate the city you have to experience it for a while. And in a short time he managed to give you a taste of what it's like to live here.

@@TouristtoLocal You definitely NEED to go to a barbecue restaurant, know as CHURRASCARIA RODIZIO which is very traditional in São Paulo and throughout the country. As a good Corinthians fan, I advise you to visit my team's stadium, and not your rival's like you did😂. The NeoQuimica Arena (Corinthians stadium) was the venue for the opening cerimony and match of the 2014 World Cup. The municipal market in São Paulo, known as MERCADÃO, is very famous and ends up receiving a lot of tourists too. The prices are also for tourists, but it's still worth it. LIBERDADE is the Japanese district full of asian markets and korean, japanese, chinese and thai restaurants.. it's a neighbourhood full of history and weird and interesting people. São Paulo is full of surprises, and despite being born and raised in this city, I still have many places to discover.

São Paulo is amazing but is also so enormous that you really need a local to show their bests places and things to do, but you guys were really well received by this guy Danilo, but São Paulo is so large and have so many worlds/different people and cultures inside that has to be explored with much more time, that being said your tour was great just missed Masp museum with was on your way and in terms of art is the best place in paulista to visit!
