Yo man Thanks for what you do! You and a few others have inspired me to dust off the gear and hit the field again. Picked up a used Etek 5 and some other junk. I’ll be out balling next weekend for the first time in probably 10 years.

I was that center 50 at the past tournament. My job was to prevent any player from reaching snake 1. I went a few games that I traded out with their 50 player and only had to shoot 2-3 paintballs. Very odd staying there patiently and baiting them but it was something I had never done. Great video by the way!💪

Yea sometimes the center player just needs to be the most patient one!

Learned everything I know about playing my spot by watching Yosh and trying to understand why he does what he does and when he does it. Coming back into the game after a 4-5 year hiatus and I'm glad to see he's still out there being the highest quality example of a back center player.

Hope you guys do well in Chicago! You have great vids for folks learning the game and for the folks like me that have been around forever. Always looking for knowledge! Pbfit shows that you don't need to be completely athletic to play well. I know, I know d3 but rankings don't mean much to me.

Athleticism helps for sure. The way I workout and drill now I wish I started years ago.

Definetely More detailed than my current job description 🤣 this should be called "Paintball 101: roles and responsabilities". Merch incoming the hype Is real.!!!!!!!!!

I equated it to football positions to folks in the past. The back guy is like a QB in the sense that you need to read the field and help direct. COMMUNICATION so everyone knows what's up. The fronts/ or 1's are the WR's on the field. Controlled but yet looking to break something open! The mids/ or 2's are the running backs. They just plow a path for those WR's lol. I also used the lineman analogy for the back guys because we are big ugly and get no glory but we play just important of a role and the superstars lol!

Awesome video as always man! One question: What does that mean when you "have someone's tape"?
@howtoplaypaintball3 жыл бұрын
Basically that you are holding the outside of their bunker closest to the out of bounds line. If the player is looking inside the field and I am behind them I will shoot their “tape” to protect them on the outside.
@landonshivers48472 жыл бұрын
It means hes holding aim straight down the sidelines to protect snake player.

Revisiting some of your older content regarding roles and rules and basics type stuff. This description seems to be more relevant to a 5-man team. How does this translate to like a D6 team format that's only 3-man?
@howtoplaypaintball4 жыл бұрын
This would still work for a three man team. Think of the 1 as a front player, 2 as mid, 3 as back.

Do you have a video on hyperball layouts? We are doing a 5 man on a 10 man field in a couple weeks and looking for some tips to spread and still work as a solid line I know we will have to be loud and constantly talk..

Nothing on Hyperball but all the fundamentals work for Xball as for Hyperball. Find the bodies and work together as a unit 👍

Any tips on trying out for a team? It’ll be my first team tryout but I’ve been playing for a while.
@aimeagle5 жыл бұрын
Imo, just relax and play your game. Don't try and be a rockstar! Be humble (don't be a mouse either lol) and ready to listen to feedback from the coach or the established guys. Play smart is all. Don't be nervous man! It is after all, paintball and it is fun as hell! Especially when your team is winning!
@howtoplaypaintball5 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Play aggressive and don’t overthink things. Be a good teammate and communicate real well. Be confident!
@Forbeszy15 жыл бұрын
Being on time or even early for it. Listen to music as you wait or whatever helps you get in the zone. Just do your thing when playing. While learn from mistakes. Improvement on the field also shows too. Then everything else that was said.
@howtoplaypaintball5 жыл бұрын
I’d definitely agree with being early!

For big events or tournaments, are teams responsible to bring their own paint or buy it from the field the day of the tournament?
@howtoplaypaintball4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the event. The NXL has requirements for paint to be purchased through approved vendors. Some local events might let you bring your own though.

What does shooting the tape mean or watching someone’s tape ?
@howtoplaypaintball2 жыл бұрын
The tape is the outside line down a set of bunkers. So the tape would be the “line” down a set of bunkers on the snake or dorito side.
