The ending! 😭I had to go back and watch it again knowing the context. Annie, having been restored by The Maker, finds herself living an existence of pain. Every bone in her mechanical body is shattered, daily, but it remains nothing compared to the heartbreak Tove imparted upon her. The colors of such pain can remain forever woven into the fabric of one's heart, even after one has tried ripping it out. Even as she attempts to gaze upon other women, Annie finds her attention redirected to the ever present numbness of her pain, habitually being repaired only so that she may endure being broken down again and again. It's no wonder she leaves to find and take back Tove, as the heart is incredibly talented at not only reminding you who is to blame for your pain, but who made you feel loved as well. It fuels a desire to be loved by the very person you want to hurt. A conundrum of feelings so intense, that it often leads one to do rash, illogical, and deceitful things. It matters not, though, because it all becomes worth it to find yourself in their embrace once more, to have their eyes lay upon you as they once did, and to know you now have the power to hurt them just as they did you. It matters not, right? Annie is different, she looks different, and moves differently. Pain has taken away the vibrancy she once lived with, and replaced it with a mask of dullness and a skin made of scars. She drugs Tove, as she knows it's the only way to wash her of the fear and confusion she's experiencing. The tab itself, is a microchip, a window into Annie's world and reality. And thus, Tove becomes enraptured with feelings of connection and bliss to the mechanical world and frequencies she finds herself surrounded by. Maybe it's familiar to her, as it's a wavelength that she once danced upon with a soul she once knew. Maybe that's why she surrenders herself to it all so easily, and lets the wind simply blow through her hair. Maybe deep down she knows it's Annie, the look on her face at 3:05 tells me that she knows. She sees the soul she once loved behind the mask of suffering she now wears. A mask that Tove finds beautiful nonetheless. They have loved, they have hurt. And with that, they both know how it must end. Annie hurdles them recklessly towards their fate. Tove will finally feel the pain that Annie has felt everyday, endlessly. A debt must always be paid when it comes to matters of love and heartbreak. Forces so universal and powerful that they move through time and space and flesh and blood and wires and metal. They move so intensely that at times you've no choice but to close your eyes and be taken away by them. To surrender and be pushed and pulled and driven wildly in all directions, only to find yourself at the edge of life and death, at the junction of peace and chaos, at the precipice of the end and the beginning... at the borderline. Annie exits the car, consumed by the flames of what she's done. But nonetheless her scars are burned away, and her mask removed. She can breathe a bit better now, and face the world as her true self, but only time will tell at what cost. And our beloved Tove Lo, well we can only presume she perished in the wondrous explosion of such tragic love. Yet, the words of The Maker ring ever loudly in my ears, "No te preocupes, carino. Nadie muere por amor."... "Don't worry, my dear. No one dies from love."

Actually Tove Lo and Dua Lipa cowrote this song and it was intended to be on Dua’s Future Nostalgia album, but it got rejected and never made the final cut of FN, so Tove recorded and released it!😇

I'm more of a classic/retro rock/pop guy and normally don't care for these new pop singers. But man o man!! This Tove Lo is freakin' awesome!! This song has gotten into my head and I cannot get it out! If a song like this from this particular genre that usually does not impress me can make me obsessed, then the song and artist must be really awesome. Tove Lo has got raw and incredible talent and DESERVES to be recognized. As far as I'm concerned, Taylor Swift can make like a member of the Sierra Club and take a hike!!
