I remember when these were on the lot new in 2001. All I could afford was a 95' 12 valve at the time for drag racing and dyno pulling (back when no DEF and BS smog laws)..my group and I in Sonoma County were the original pioneers of the Diesel Performance world 25 years ago. Best time of my life, thanks for keeping this old 24 valve going..the best sounding engine in the world.

I can't imagine a world without a Cummins powered 2nd Gen Dodge! These are the absolute peak of trucks IMO.

I love that truck too! I've completely had it with cars. Nothing even interests me at all. That transmission is awesome! I think I would get the whole interior redone in black leather, steering wheel re-wrapped and sewn. I've had this crazy idea about putting a new fiberglass cap on, then combining the cab and bed, with seats in the back. Like a conversion van type thing. LOL What a project that would be! LOL I'm sure they make suspension upgrades (non-lift) for handling. That would be my dream hot rod!! Thanks Sam!! 8) Peace --gary

Nice 👍🏻 A video of installing an exhaust brake on that sport truck would be cool to watch

When you charge the a/c shouldn’t the Freon tank be upside down?

Question for you, I have watched allot of your videos on your 3500 vs your 5500. I am wondering why not buy a single axle semi? Seems like it would haul more, and be more economical on fuel based on gears. You have to have a cdl for weight either way. Is it insurance, maintence, something im not thinking of? I ask this as im in the begining stages of starting a similiar company to yours, and im stuck. I live at 7,500' lots of steep climbs with a load behind Im thinking a single axle semi would be better but would like your input on it.

Semis cost too much to buy and tag and modern pick ups can haul 35kplus. Only way a semi would be good for me if I could go over 80,000lbs gross and haul two machines at once. Pick up trucks work really well now for towing30k

@VBELTandSON makes sense, did not consider tags, i bought a d4h (25klbs) and need to be able to trailer it, thank you.

My buddy put a real Jake brake and he is pretty blowed up with cash and when his new Dodge dullay first thing he said where’s my Jake and he took it to cummins a had a real Jake out on it and with the straight pipe it really cackled and this has been 10 yrs or more and I think the kit was 3 k or the whole job was 3k but man you could here him come down the big hill hauling 450 JD and every body would stop just to listen to the big boy truck just talking to you and yes it was a 3 stage BOOM !!!

Remember the brand by any chance? The only real Compression Release Brake I've heard of for these Cummins was the Prototype "Thunder Brake" that was being developed by a gentleman here in Texas. Somewhere up near Amarillo I think. Unfortunately he passed away before he could make a production run of these kits (he was pretty far along - nearly to production, just needed better tooling) and the project has been dormant ever since.

In my opinion the buddy brake seems like a rip off. You can just about recreate it for like $300 using the same valve and a switch and relay.

Absolutely do not waste your money on a bundy exhaust brake. He stands bu his products but all it is, is a sound divice. Thats my opinion. I had one, didn't work, he sent me a new one and same thing. All sound. Even on flats
