Tower of Power compression Test. Checking the health.

Good info, thanks for the video! I’ve also heard that you want the engine up to temperature then run the compression test because cold engines can read much lower. Just wondering what your take is on this

The main thing i was looking for in this test is if all 6 were close to be the same. Cold you should get around 100 - 110 Warm engine about 150. I did find some docs on the subject. I am just happy that all 6 were about the same.

Thanks for these videos, I am also working on a tower of power 115, except mine seems slightly older than yours, I will be doing a compression test as well soon (also, fuck the 6th cylinder hahaha)

We just love the Tower of Powe. Simple and they just work. it is amazing on how healthy this thing is after 38 years. Instead of calling it the tower of power we can shorten to F6C. Cause 6 cylinder does suck. Good luck with your test.

@@5LakesGarage turns out compression is good, engine is running good. 1976 1150 tower of power mercury. It sounds good for that old of an engine. Looking forward to the fishing season here in BC

I have the same motor,but the compression goes around 75 to 87,this is bad?

Sorry for the delay. I was out on vacation. For a cold engine, you should be ok. it should be better when you warm it up. mostly look to see if they are close to be the same. love these engines.
