Every time I see a Frost live video, I'm more amazed than I was the last time. And I was pretty damned amazed the first time, let me tell you. Saw them live in the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh for the launch of the Falling Satellites album, and despite poor Jem having a hoarse voice (their previous gig went uber-heavy on the smoke machines), it was a mind-bendingly awesome performance. If you haven't seen them live, bloody hell you're missing out.
@LiamGaughan5 жыл бұрын
Was at that gig as well, and have been lucky enough to see them support DT in Leeds, and Spock's Beard in Manchester. Absolutely mind blowing every time. I feel like between each album they say 'that's it we're done' then come back again. So hurry up and call it a day again Jem, so we can get more music. :D

I initially thought that Jem would not be able to top Milliontown, but that album is awesome from start to end and it's not so easy to select a favorite. I would personaly say "the raging against the dying of the light blues in 7/8" or "Closer to the Sun", but this one comes very close!

I don't know about testing for illicit substances, I think after that performance I would have each member of the band checked for a small 5 pin socket somewhere about their person.... That sort of timing is either witchcraft or they are somehow connected together.... Stunning... and I have to agree with others on here - that actually is preferable to the album version (which I also Love).. Mucho Kudos to the desk Jockey... Drums in particular sound stunning... Hard to do really well, I know... All I ask - PLEASE come to Sheffield and book somewhere with a decent stage - I'll do the lighting for you for nothing... Ive got a pretty big LED rig now.... certainly better than Dingwalls anyway...

From Milliontown to this is a such a leap. Some bands are stuck in the 'prog' past and, for some of those bands, I'm sure this is by choice. But, for a group of fans, if you move past the sound of classic genesis, it's no longer prog. Honestly, I couldn't care less. I dumped being a genre addict in my late teens. If it sounds good to me, it's good; any genre; any style. Katy Perry? Damn right. There are some good tunes there. Charli XCX? Pop 2 has some of the best pop songs I've heard in years.The 1975? Prog at their heart and with the best songs of their generation. Do I like Genesis, Yes and ELP? Of course. They're part of my musical DNA and I come back to them often. I'm also prepared to move with the times and take the new sounds and energies of bands like Frost for what they are. And that's why Frost are my current favourite 'Prog" band. Superb musicianship, finely crafted songs and modern production. What's not to like?

I also had the wonderful chance to go at their concert at Scala-London (one of my little dream of all time) and try to offer the band a nice bottle of red sparkling wine comming from Saumur (Loire valley) near my hometown. I hope the bottle of ambrosia reached them and they appreciated. Thanks guys for all the positive madness you grant us each new tune. I also want to watch again the video of jem using the tenori-on live on stage. It should be somewhere hidden on the messy internet.
