Had same problem years ago the primary stator heated up and engine died. Exactly the same. Simple fix was loose the primary stator coil. Took me two break downs before i swapped the stator coil. Sadly it tested ok with ohm meter
@KevinTodd8 ай бұрын
Mines testing OK two that is the only thing I haven't changed and I got to thinking about what would cause this heat vibration wearing through to the bare wire shortening the contact length then heating up and dying that's what I'm thinking anyhow I hope you're doing good bro thank you so much for watching

I seen a video of an old scooter alternator/stator repaired/rewound like this because nobody sold stators for it anymore. I'm still on my 1st coil from 2020. I think possibly because I coated the new coil in harbor ⚓ freight clear 2 part epoxy to make sure no moisture got into it. I'm not sure if coating it helped anything but it sure didn't hurt & was only 50 cents.
@KevinTodd8 ай бұрын
Yes it probably helped keeping the wires from vibrating and wearing through to the bare wire and that is what I think that has been happening thanks for watching brother you ride safe

That's pretty interesting Kevin but where do you get the enamel coated wire from and how do you attach it to the coil?
@KevinTodd8 ай бұрын
I got the wire off Amazon they come in 50 gram rolls and I'm going to do some more testing before I tell everybody run out and get this so I feel as though this is a better Magneto and the epoxies high temperature epoxy and it's not going to let the wire move within the coil so hopefully this is going to work but I got to let the weather clear up down here

I couldn't see it making any spark.I thought I saw a faint spark and that's real low R.PM's so hopefully we can get the rpm down at idle.But yeah, it did hit me pretty good.That's the reason I was switched over to the forever.Love.Thanks for watching brother.You ride safe

Yes it does and the first part of the video I couldn't see any spark or just a faint bit of spark and you do know in the other testing that they never made spark until over 1000 RPM's well it wasn't running nowhere near 1000 so hopefully we're going to get spark at a lower RPM thank you so much for watching brother get your build done and ride safe

Funnily a topic I'm very good at ok ohmes is a electrical unit of resistance lesson 1 wire's are measure in gage lower the number thicker the wire if you no a transfer repair shop you can find copper wire the magnetor wire is no difference I could easily rewire a mag to ohmes just use the same gage wire to repair high out put mag would be lower ohmes thicker gage wire.How I know is because I've been rewire sound system speaker voice coil for year's now never got my ohmes wrong 💯
@KevinTodd8 ай бұрын
And really what I was trying to achieve was spark at a lower RPM but wire size doesn't really make any difference within a changing electromagnetic field but I do think that it does fire at a lower RPM because in the first of the video I couldn't see any spark or I could see just a faint spark and then when I touched it lit my *** up thank you so much for watching and yes you are very correct ride safe brother

I threw away about 7 or 8 that were just bad so I figured let's try something new and it seems to be working great it seems like it idles very good at lower RPM's and it just works good and it's a simple fix and it's a hopefully a permanent fix thank you very much for watching brother and ride safe

I bought a engine kit from e-bay and it's like it has a governor in it or something it 30 mph it stalling and you have to let out of the gas or it slows down to 25-28 if you don't. is in cdi or the carburetor? I got your stickers today thanks

My guess is the coil is overheating. Grab a spare.
@KevinTodd8 ай бұрын
I'm pretty. Sure.It's overheating what I'm trying to do is prevent that and probably the vibration, not rap tight enough or rap too tight.We're at war through the enamel.And now you've got a shorter path.We'll see thanks for watching brother ride safe
